After all the earlier formation debate it seems we are in fact playing the less used 5-5-0 formation... counting down the clock for Kane to come on for his allocated minutes..
Is anyone else not thinking we are only interested to annoy WBA - and we will just get them to do a deal over Berahinio. Us pulling away from Ricky Lambert if we sign their player.
I must admit, I thought we lost something by selling Dawson, huddlestone, Defoe, Parker, and losing King, the English core of the old team. When we brought in the international 7 for the Bale money. But having a new young core of young players coming through together could be something special...
Think we got him at 16/17 as an attacking midfielder before he signed a pro contract at Leeds and before a pro debut. Not like walker who had played a fair bit for Sheffield utd when we signed him at 18. But I take your point.
What was really impressive is that 5 of our starting 11 came from the academy! The average age of that team must be around 24. So much hope for the future. Spurs must now be the number 1 choice for young talent wanting to crack the PL in this country! Coys!!
Oh the optimism of pre-pre season! the potential signings.. the promised improvement from existing players.. the hope of a new manager... fingers crossed its gonna be another bumpy ride! here's to hoping!!
He has done better than Bale, compared to young Bales first season!
Was it 24 games without being on the winning side?
Paulinhio is quality but needs to play in a 3, not 4-4-2.
I hope we stick with him and sandro!
Anyone else feeling a bit fatigued by all of this? Haven't we been here before with Ramos and Santini? Did fairly well in euro leagues, but lack of English stopped them bonding with the media, fans and players... For me De Beor was the first choice. Didn't AVB also promise pressing attacking...
£10 mill well spent on Eriksen at 21 from Ajax.. 5 years outstanding development and top level first team action.. I doubt he would be the same player if he came to us at 16.. We have done ok bringing through young Brits like Lennon, bale and walker. But our record with teenage foreign signings...
The average age of yesterday's team was 24.7 pretty good really. So some hope for the future. And first teamers like Vertonghen and Walker won't take the average down either..
Kane 20 Adebeyor 30
Eriksen 22 chadli 24 paulinho 25 Lennon 27
Rose 23 Fryers 21 Kaboul 28 naughton 25
Lloris 27...
Just watching the highlights of us beating Liverpool 4-0... Modric with a screamer.. Bale on the left.. King at the back... Charlie Adam sent off.. Very depressing... I know every team can play what if... But what if we had signed Suarez like Redknapp wanted before Sherwood told him Suarez could...
Why? Are you finding the game hard to follow on your black and white telly?
I remember having that problem watching lineker lead the line away to Feyenord.. But it was 1992 and I was on a canal boat holiday!!
And where was Adebeyor? Not even on the bench... Bentaleb ahead of him. Taken to Moldova and not played. Defo being told to do one... And making it clear to levy too. And fair play to Kane who needs him if he is just wasting space!
Was Chadli carrying a knock to start with? Starting on the bench in the c1 cup is a bit of a knock for him otherwise! Let's defo play the kids in Europe next week...
Wow that penalty shoutout shows the difference in pressure in a World Cup final! You just knew they were going to bash them like on the training ground. (Apart from lamela who I thought played well!) what was it 7 penalties!?
I think I may have just found an even worse spurs side of the millennium...
Drum roll please....
