Football teams lose matches. For whatever reason we had an off day. All credit to Fulham also, we didn't lose squarely because we were shit, they were also excellent.

The only real grumble I have from today is starting Dragusin LCB, I would've swapped him and Romero. I would've also changed things a little sooner. However, what do I know? I'm an armchair manager like the rest of us.

We're heading the right direction, Ange has instilled some pride in our fanbase again and given some investment to get the right characters, with the right qualities, we'll look better again next year.

We seriously need an overhaul in our attack. Deki, Johnson and Werner are OK but not title challenge level. Son is 31 and has already started to decline somewhat. It doesn't matter who the manager is, we've reached our ceiling if those are our options up top.

Conte only knows one thing and that’s how to win when the conditions suit him. E.g. when he’s given huge sums of money to spend.
He won the league with Chelsea with a net spend of £24m. They finished 10th the season before.

Won the league with inter Milan with a net spend of £43m

Won the league with Juventus with a net spend of £81m

To put that into context, our net spend this season is £151m.

He won 3 titles in 2 different countries with a lower net spend than we have in this season alone.

Edit: according to transfermarkt anyway

That’s hugely lacking in context.

Chelsea spent £119m in the summer then sold Oscar in the winter window. Chelsea were also out of Europe and that favours him as he famously can’t handle prepping two games in a single week.

Inter spent €99m and nearly bankrupted themselves.

been said already, but it took Klopp about 3 years to sort Liverpool out and Arteta about 4 years before they started to kick on. Even Pep only got 4th in his first season.

I have no problem where Ange is going or how he is doing things.

Yes it was utterly shit and totally predictable……..beat Villa 0-4 and then lose 3-0 to Fulham 6 days later……standard THFC. We’ve been doing shit like that for years.

Give Ange a 2/3 full season and I expect he will sort out that part of what seems to be in our DNA, assuming g Daniel Levy gets out of his way

Is it a love for Spurs or a love for Son? Genuine question. He's been here a while, so I'd think there's a deeper attachment there.
I don't think you could separate the two. Son is on another level of national adoration here. His face is everywhere. I've even seen celebrities go full-on fanboy/girl over him. And some, especially the younger kids, will probably lose interest when he leaves for a new club. (I've seen kids wear full Sonny THFC kit one day, to wearing full Lee Kang-in PSG kit the next.)

But, as you say, for some THFC is now their team regardless of whether he moves on. Or, at least one of the teams they follow.

People are quick to forget.

Pochs first season was full of excellent performances against tough opponents (Chelsea, Arsenal, etc) and followed by crap performances (Stoke, Swansea, a shite Newcastle)

That's because the mentality is the hardest thing to change. Poch noted that.

But after 2 years our mentality was superb.

Ange is finding out which players may struggle with that. The players themselves are learning they accept drop performances a smidgen.

It'll come

Probably a fairer assessment mate.

I wrote immediately after final whistle
Fair enough and I know it is irritating to lose.

I just don't like to see the hyperbole.

Unfortunately some are sticking to that and I feel are actively waiting for Ange to fuck up to jump on him.

Pretty sure Ange knows made an error.

Don't think I've ever been more convinced of a manager like I am of Ange .

I always need my 30 minute hissy fits on here after a loss but that's it really. Very rare I have anything negative to say on Ange even in those after loss comments.

Believe he should have made changes but yeah, on to the next

Honestly, I was expecting a couple of absolute drubbings this season with everything that was happening last summer, and I was among the more optimistic on here. And thought we could finish top 6 but didn't think we even had a sniff of top 4.

Obviously there's time for a total collapse and even a couple of drubbings but I don't think that happens. Even if they do then I've seen enough from Ange already to take them on the chin.

Love his work but this was disastrous from him today. That 10 min patch between 2 and 3-0 when they were still running us off the park and we looked dreadful and he did nothing. As much at fault as anyone today.

I thought I knew a little about football and tactics but sometimes I watch us and I’ve generally no idea what we are supposed to be doing . We play predominantly with 2 centre backs 5 midfielders and 3 attackers ( 2 full backs inverted into the midfield) I’ve never in my life seen a team so wide open in midfield , we would lose the ball and there would be 50 yards of space for Fulham to pass or run into , it was like we were playing with 8 men . Lose the ball in their half and within 10 seconds we are making a desperate clearance or vicario is making a world class save , I’m sorry I want Ange to work , I love the romance of it but bloody hell , he needs to be able to see the holes in the team and make the necessary tactical tweaks ( in game ) , this playing style is not sustainable and I can’t see us changing this first 11 hugely over the summer so I can’t see what changes dramatically if we continue in the same way . We are regressing the longer the season goes on. I think one more window and half of next season should be enough to see if this is going to work . Im seriously concerned about scum at home and Liverpool away if we continue how we are .

I think we’re going to have plenty of good days and bad days while we continue to improve. Because ultimately we spent the last four or five seasons in decline.

We’ve arguably had just one goodish season since the Champions League final - and even that season- our indisputably best season since 18/9 - we had some really disappointing results like losing to Man U 3-0 at home under Nuno and losing home matches to Wolves, Southampton and Brighton under Conte.

Last season was a mess and we sold our best player at the start of this season.

I think we need to be realistic about where we are right now and understand it will probably take some time to fix all the problems.

That’s not to say people shouldn’t be unhappy about results like yesterday. But it makes me bristle when I see comments like “this isn’t sustainable”. Because what really isn’t sustainable is sacking coaches every season, having no proper footballing identity and not having the patience to see out a plan.

I love Ange but you could see Fulham were set up to thwart us in the first 10 mins and he didn’t react tactically. Also Bentancur should be playing when the midfield is congested.
They nullified our fullbacks and we were scuppered.

We are not the finished article yet, said from day 1 this season would be inconsistent. Fulham are also a good side at home.

5-6 players needed in summer and we go again stronger next season.

Yesterday reminded me of Nuno at Palace , same score line , same look on the managers face and same application from the players . At this stage in the season I want to see performances and a style of play that I can believe in, trouble is I’m not .
