The timing of his run & the quality of his cross made the winner possible

to be able to sub off Bentacur Werner n Deki with Yves Sonny n Johnson and to continue to press and run at the opponents is so devastating

He’s back. Bissouma’s back. Maddison’s back. Sarr’s back.

If we can keep players available, I think there’s a good chance we go from strength to strength

Personally i think this is great news if it happens. We had ITK over Jan suggesting we wouldn’t renew and next season might well be his last but I think that would be a mistake. Yes he will probably move into CF and might well no longer be a guaranteed starter in a year or two but his shooting technique is incredible and his personality is invaluable.

Anyone that doesn't think this is great news needs to re-evaluate.

Man I'd love for Son to see out his career with us. Even if his legs fall off, he just bleeds spurs and for that alone I want him to stick around till he's got nothing left to give.

Loved both his and the fans reaction when he came onto the pitch. This really is Son's Spurs.

Was sat right behind the section where the subs warm up, Son came out warming up in his shorts 2nd half, ready for the call, when he got the wave to report back to the bench to get on all the fans on our side were urging him on with cheers and encouragement.

He doesnt get the chants the way Kane did but the connection between Son and the fans feels much more personal, the fans show him the support and he returns the appreciation with interest.

Great captain.

I think we will need to win something soon-ish for him to stay with us. He's obviously world-class and deserves something. Having said that I think he has more than a few years left in him. He is uber professional and knows how to play the game to suit his strength.

He might want to eventually finish his career in Korea maybe. Maybe not. Either way, his days out wide are close to drawing down but he's athletic enough, especially if the squad is built out to allow more rotation without sacrificing quality, to move centrally and get another good season or maybe even 2 out of his legs when that time comes IMO.

Would love Son and H on the same pitch in the CL next season with the crowd belting out “HMS he’s one of our own”

Son is undoubtably one of the best ever players to wear our shirt and it's been a privilege watching him play. Hope he has another few years in the tank.

I think his optimal position is as CF now. I think we are just playing Richy there for the overall team.

I thought he left for Germany at a pretty young age.

He did. And he famously learned German by watching episodes of the German version of SpongeBob SquarePants.

And this has set me thinking.

It's a pretty catchy tune. I wonder if, after all this time, one were to encounter Sonny and sing

'Wer wohnt in 'ner Ananas ganz tief im Meer?'

Whether he would, almost without thinking, reply

'Spongebob Schwammkopft'.

You'd like to think so.

You lot can crack on with your conversations about whether to extend his contract, or where his best position is, but, honestly, it's this kind of thing that keeps me from sleeping at night. I'm unlikely ever to be in a position to put the old German SpongeBob question to the test but, if ever one of you are, please let me know. I'd appreciate it. Cheers.

If he signs a new contract, sees out his career here and wins any sort of silverware in the meantime, he goes ahead of Harry Kane in terms of Spurs greats.

Me too! Son in the middle if we get that tricky winger in this summer.

Agree with both of you and it’s the reason I wouldn’t sign a striker this summer. I would sign 2 quality wingers, 1 for each flank and then have Son, Richy and Veliz as striker options.

Son may still feature wider in occasional games or for certain periods during a game but would mainly be a striker.
