Going by what was said, Vicario didn't react at all during the game and left it until after the game to make the comment. So did exactly as you said, doesn't let him get in his head or react during the game and stayed concentrating on the game.
Not the rest of them though. Come on, we have seen MANY times over the year that when we are dragged into mind game stuff we come up sort and lose our minds. We need to be more mature. You didn't really see this stuff with prime Man Utd, Barca, Chelski etc. It's about drowning out the noise and going through your plan regardless of the antics of others. Until we can do that we won't get the consistency needed to turn into a real force. Maupay was winding our guys up and it was causing things to go off piste. That's one guy.

  • Maupay is funny when he’s not playing us.
  • I hated it against us but Brentford’s shithousery is world class today
  • Who would have thought a couple of season ago that Brentford would morph into the nastiest team in the league. It's a proper headscratcher.
  • Brentford could have been 3 up in this half.
  • Will certainly come back to bite them in the second
  • Keep it up Brentford
  • Both Chelsea and Tottenham seem to end up in games where there are loads of chances at both ends. If Chelsea could actually finish, they'd be much higher up the table.
  • Tottenham are the team we are up against now, media saying they will be top 4 all day long, no mention of us......................again.
  • Was going to put the Spurs river on....nah. This season is starting to have an ominous feel to it. Postacoglu making a double change at half time, can't understand why we didn't do any of that last night.
  • For as poorly as we've played, we're pretty plenty in the UCL race watching these Chelsea and Spurs defenses. We just got to get teams turned around facing their own goal when we attack
  • Tottenham are the team we are up against now, media saying they will be top 4 all day long, no mention of us......................again.
  • Well we need to prove them wrong but I’m not convinced we will which is annoying.
  • 2-1 Totttenham 2 goal in 2 minutes. 🤦‍♂️
  • Sorry chaps, that's my fault, the Spurs game sounded like fun so I turned over to watch it - I've had it on for 90 seconds and Spurs have scored twice. I'll go back to Liverpool - Chelsea.
  • Spurs winning now!
  • Something tells me there's still probably 2 more goals in this Spurs game and it could go to either team.
  • Spurs winning now!
  • Above us now 🤬
  • Spurs losing at HT, make 2 changes, score two quickfire goals to go in front. We 2-0 down last night, no changes, go 3-0 down, game over, finally make changes. Unai absolutely got it wrong last night.
  • Brentford are usually a tough nut to crack when they go a goal up so not good at all they've turned that around so quickly, was hoping for a frustrating 1-1.
  • Spurs are annoyingly entertaining to watch.
  • They commit a lot of players to their attack. It's something we don't do enough. Too many times its Watkins vs the back line or maybe Watkins/Diaby in a 2 vs 4. That's why I don't like our 4 CM set ups. Not enough players to support an attack.
  • 3-1 now, all over i'd say. Gonna take some catching looking at our form.
  • Not going to get your Arsenal move shanking a shot like that, Toney. Better twerk some more for them.
  • Tottenham are the team we are up against now, media saying they will be top 4 all day long, no mention of us......................again.
  • Stronger squad, about 100 million more in revenue, having been there often enough in recent years, better recent performances and us kinda falling off a cliff... I wonder why the media would think that?
  • **** words removed. Hate spurs.
  • 3-2 Toney!
  • Mon the Bees.
  • Wait, wait! Spurs still got plenty of chance to bottle this. Ange doesn't know how to stop attacking!
  • Game on!
  • Stronger squad, about 100 million more in revenue, having been there often enough in recent years, and us kinda falling off a cliff... I wonder why the media would think that?
  • Only £100m more in revenue? More like about £250m more in revenue and over twice what we make.
  • Landan innit bruv. 😪
  • Stronger squad, about 100 million more in revenue, having been there often enough in recent years, better recent performances and us kinda falling off a cliff... I wonder why the media would think that?
  • If Brentford equalise ot go on to win... Forget everything he just said 👀
  • Why doesn't Ben Mee try to kill somebody when he's playing Spurs? Why's it only us and Liverpool? word removed.
  • Funny, ain't won a Trophy in 12 years and that was the shitty league cup, last one before that, I don't think I was born. Us falling off a cliff is a good enough reason. 😂
  • That non foul in the spurs game is an absolute shocker, on a yellow already too, it's an easy decision
  • Bees should have scored there. Wasted!
  • Brentford missed some really good chances this game
  • Massive difference between how we play when we are last ditch going for a goal and some other teams. We often play like we are holding on to a lead even in the dying moments when we are behind 🙄
  • They are so good to watch when they are like this. Its the energy and speed . And then when they lose it they win it back. They play a second quicker than us across all facets of the game .
  • We lose and all our rivals win. So obvious it would happen.
  • At least Chelsea lost.

Newcastle-online
  • Maupay vs Romero is going to be fun
  • Wow Haaland and Maddison back. They've both been gone ages.
  • Brentford winning
  • 1-0 Maupay
  • What a finish from Maupay.
  • A Brentford win would be great for us.
  • Maupay like a different player at Brentford. Strange
  • Maybe he’s into Danish paedos?
  • Spurs lucky not to be 2-3 down here. I’m sure they’ll win. But Brentford have been taking the piss out of their high line so far.
  • Tommy Frank is one scary looking bastard. Personification of evil.
  • Maddison is obviously a great player with fantastic skills but sometimes he really slows down Tottenhams play
  • Was legal to fuck animals in Denmark until 2015, Thomas Frank coincidentally leaves shortly after. I think we can draw our own conclusions.
  • How the fuck do you even know that, ya fucking zoo nonce. 😂
  • Tottenham look like shit here
  • Spurs can't handle Brentford's high press at all
  • Pathetic from Collins
  • Was legal to fuck animals in Denmark until 2015, Thomas Frank coincidentally leaves shortly after. I think we can draw our own conclusions.
  • 😂😂 had to cancel my trip in 2016.
  • Incredible amounts of time wasting by Brentford. They almost make it two 😂
  • Brentford are master shithousers, even moreso than us
  • Oliver Skipp looks about 40, also a pretty shit player.
  • It’s been amazing to watch 😂
  • Oliver Skipp looks about 40, also a pretty shit player.
  • The new Harry Wanks, absolute nothing player.
  • Getting fiesty st Spurs match. Makes it a bit more of watch.
  • If this Spurs/Brentford match ends 11v11 I’ll be surprised.
  • Spurs are completely losing their discipline
  • Spurs are dirty ****s at the best of times so you’d not be surprised.
  • Another decent chance for Brentford there. Spurs have been shit thus far.
  • Spurs look absolutely toothless without “Sonny”
  • Maupay. At least Bellamy was a good player with that style of shithousery.
  • Spurs not fancy top four then?
  • I get Maupay is a prick but in that clip it's Maddison being precious about his celebration
  • Spurs 1-1
  • Spurs 2-1 ffs
  • Hell of a pass from Werner
  • You just knew Brentford would fuck it up after not scoring 2-3 in the first half.
  • Spurs not fancy top four then?
  • Timing.
  • Spurs tearing Brenford apart
  • 3-spurs. Brentford not fancy a 2nd half like?
  • Brentford are rubbish
  • (Clears throat) Thomas. Wank.
  • What happened to Maddison? Muscular again?
  • Brentford will be kicking themselves. Missed so many good chances.
  • It’s funny to see Maddison so rattled about a goal celebration
  • Every team should do it against spurs 😀

North Stand Chat (Brighton)
  • Maupay just scored for Brentford then mimics James Maddison’s goal celebration in front of the Spurs fans. 😂😂.
  • Maupay scores for Brentford at Spurs
  • OMG Maupay shithousing like the legend he is 🤣. What a twat Maddison was to rise to it.
  • Both a little bit on the edge, could kick off again that.
  • Incredible
  • Love ❤️ that guy. So much fun.
  • This is beyond hypothetical BUT if I was a premier league football player I would like to think I would be like Maupay. So much fun.
  • Be true to yourself sweet prince x
  • He's like Bellamy in a lot of ways
  • Maupay being happy makes me happy.
  • Brentford seemed to have started the second half poorly…3/1 to Spurs
  • 3-1 😞

Maupay getting under everyone’s skin will be music to his ears. He is their Cuti and Richie. Wind up merchant and looking for a reaction. Don’t fall for it. Don’t pay him any attention
I didn't realise he was half Argentinian - that figures :)

Arsemania - After Brentford
  • They're on a roll. Good vibes and if Ange gets CL in his first season with exciting football and improving already-discarded players like Bissouma, Richarlison, Saar, Udogie, etc. it's going to be bad look for half of AM.
  • SA Gunner - Not really. They are finally becoming a modern team after thinking they have arrived with Conte. Now its a question of whether they can sustain their return, if they do return. You'd expect Liverpool to stick around the CL spots despite Klopp's departure. You expect Villa to build on this season. And ignoring Chelsea, Newcastle and United for a minute, that is still 5 teams going into 4 places. Lets see how they do.
  • Not really what? Them getting top 4? It's a big IF but so far they look like the top contender for 4th.
  • SA Gunner - Not really something I'd be bothered about to be honest. I think a good number of AM too.
  • Let's wait until May. I hope I'm wrong because I can't stand 'em but this short Ange stint looks different than the rest.
Bergvall News Breaking - Tweet posted - Lucas Bergvall visited Tottenham's training ground and stadium yesterday. His compatriot Dejan Kulusevski accompanied him and tried to convince him to accept the offer from Spurs instead of Barcelona.
  • He is such an Arsenal player. Wenger would have loved him. But we have a dead Spaniard in charge who think havertz is a flair player. God I hate him
  • If Sp**s sign Bergvall that’s the 3rd wonder kid Barca looked to sign that was hijacked. Arda, Bergvall, Echeverri
  • Sp**s doing good recruitment while Edu terminating contracts. I'm not sure who I hate more Tets or Edu.
  • Bergvall is some talent… was hoping he would go to Barca for his development sake but Sp**s would be…sour
  • Agreed. Thing is, him going to Barca makes more sense
  • Such a disgusting club, tbh. Can't wait until their trophy drought is first allowed to drive a car next year, then legally be allowed to adopt a child a few years after...this is the team you choose to support lads -
  • I’m already preparing myself for summer transfer when I have to deal with @SA Gunner arguing why Rashford is good idea. Lord protect us from Artetas terrible talent ID
They have a Swedish fan on there that was raging when Kulu signed for us. She was fighting his corner with the idiots who said he was slow and trash. She has proven to be right. Think this signing will send her over the edge. She's been active recently but nothing yet about this. Probably gone to bed for school tomorrow before this broke. She's in for a nice surprise when she logs in in the morning.

Swede is up for school and not taken the news well

I f*cking hate all these swedes going to Sp**s. Because now I want Sp**s to fail but I also want the Kulusevski and now Bergvall to somehow succeed individually at the same time. Also have to endure more nonsense from this pillock popping up in my feed. Funny how every young player linked with Sp**s is considered generational. Hopefully Sp**s turn into a stepping stone for both of them. We all know where Kulusevskis true allegiances lie at least. F*ck it, I'm campaigning hard for Gyökeres to Arsenal in the summer. This needs to be remedied.

Been said a thousand times but deserves being said a thousand times more…

A huge thanks to yourself and @Jgplk1 for the effort ye put in to keeping this thread active.

It’s very much appreciated by all🙌

The knobheads turn up at tottenham and sing "Champions of Europe, you'll never sing that."

Most of them weren't alive when that happened.

The song should be reworded:

"Champions of Europe, you never saw that.."

They have a few smart fans tbh:

Another embarrassment for Deco...

EPL is getting stronger and stronger pull.. that is players turning down Bayern and Barca for Spurs this window.

Barca fans/media will pull out the Cruyff quote and claim he wanted too much money as per usual.

No idea which of the numerous sites that comes up in a search is Barca's version of SC, but this link takes you to an English one. Just the four pages on Bergvall.

Starts off a bit 'who is this kid?' Moves onto a sense that he might be quite good and wouldn't be too bad a signing, to a collective shrug that he didn't sign and a bit of moaning about Deco.

Oh, and they also call us 'Spuds', for some reason.

Grand Old Team (Everton)
  • Tough game, we really could do with a win.
  • let this season end already. let the 2024-25' championship season start already!
  • Great excuse to have my weekend ruined by midday on Saturday. Love u so much, Everton
  • I think we might score, which is a bold prediction!
  • 1-0 branthwaite, got a feeling about this.
  • I am feeling strangely confident about this game. Having watched recent games and come to the conclusion we convert scoring chances at a rate of about 1 in 1,000 I think it will all come together on Saturday and anything struck in the vague direction of the Tottenham goal will somehow find its way into the net. Big win coming ;)
  • 1-4
  • 1-0 branthwaite, got a feeling about this.
  • Can't see levy stumping up £100 mil tbh
  • I don’t understand why we have to play these and City 5 weeks after we last played them.
  • We usually beat the better, top half teams at Goodison but this lot have a curse on us.
  • I think ive gone beyond weekends getting ruined, my emotions regardless of the result will be a shoulder shrug. This club and modern day football has got me to this point.
  • I’d take a point to be honest
  • We’ve drawn against these quite a lot at home in recent years. Need 3 points here.
  • Not overly worried long term, but I can’t see us getting more than a draw from this one. I live in hope though!
  • Son at the Asia cup helps
  • if we lose to these I would love to know what excuses dyche is going to come out with. We've had an extra days rest. We have the home advantage. Both teams will have important players missing, son and bissouma for them and possibly doucoure, onana and coleman for us. They don't have lethal scorer harry kane anymore. Can't keep playing for draws and being happy with 1 point. We haven't won a league game since 16th December 2023. If we don't get a win against either spurs or man city away it will be over 2 months since our last league win. This is poor.
  • I don't feel very Young, in fact, this situation is aging me decades by the day. What chance a points appeal announcement at HT? Keep spirits down like...
  • They are better then us In almost every position would be a good reason why we could lose I'd have thought.
  • So are chelsea and we beat them 2-0
  • This will be a very hard game but they are open at the back and good going forward. Be really really tough.
  • Spurs are much better then chelsea. Luton beat Brighton 4 0. last night. It happens. But it will be no great surprise if we lose to a team who are better then us.
  • They are a team full of players I cannot stand. Romero is a thug. Maddision looks like a chubba chop. Son - horrible. Would love 3 points here.
  • Time we thrashed this crowd.
  • Spurs are much better then chelsea. Luton beat Brighton 4 0. last night. It happens. But it will be no great surprise if we lose to a team who are better then us.
  • That’s a bold statement given chelsea beat spurs 4-1 away from home
  • Richarlison hattrick
  • We should have Sarr back thankfully but Son and Bissouma are still at AFCON and Asia cup. (Spurs Fan)
  • We will get some chances. But as usual, the obvious question will be are we good enough to take them
  • That’s a bold statement given chelsea beat spurs 4-1 away from home
  • This maybe a crazy concept. But the league table after 20 games is usually a better indicator of a teams ability then a one off game . In this case one where a team played 40 plus minutes with 9 players. Would you rather have our squad or Spurs ?
  • 12.30pm kick off on Saturday. 1 day less rest for Tottenham. Whilst we are stretched it could be a good time to play them especially if we have two available from Onana, Doucoure and Gueye.
  • I would rather have spurs squad but there are lots of factors which are advantageous to us that i have already mentioned. You can't just keep justifying every defeat against a better side with 'they have a better squad, what do expect' and then justifying every defeat against a weaker side with 'we have injuries blah blah blah, we were unlucky blah blah'
  • I'm not justifying anything. If they win I won't be one bit surprised. As they have better players
  • Hopefully its wet and cold, southern softies and all that ;) lol
  • They are better than us In almost every position would be a good reason why we could lose I'd have thought.
  • I think we were as good as them a few weeks ago and only another very poor VAR decision stopped us from getting a point, maybe our luck will change on Saturday and we get all three, mind you we’re not only fighting Spurs but the officials and VAR as well.
  • Richarlison hattrick
  • Shut up Pat and keep your knickers on!
  • just hassle n get into them
  • This really. They mess around at the back, we need to force them into mistakes, close them down from the first whistle and get the crowd into the game
  • Just keep a clean sheet please .. and hope we can get one of the 64 shots we have on target and it goes in
  • That Richarlison bloke might cause a problem or two. Wonder where they got him from? 0-0.
  • Clean sheet should equal 3 points against these. But looking like same squad as Fulham minus Danjuma? Proper grim stuff.
  • 1-0 get a goal ( as hard as that is ) then kick them around
  • Should be a good team for us to play against really
  • "Everton's only victory in the past 22 Premier League meetings was 1-0 away in September 2020." Pretty encouraging factoid there....
  • Excitement, entertainment. and goals galore. :celebrate: Just not at Goodison Park tomorrow. :(
  • Three points against Tottenham would be great, but I don't believe we have the tools for the job. 1 - 4
  • Who do you think we are playing. If we get battered, its because they are a much better team. No excuse needed.
  • I'd have him centre mid in, but to each their own
  • Even if we win they are still a much better team. This is a proper tactical game, they have a unique style and will give you chances if you can setup right. We have no one decent enough to put chances away and will have to rely on our defenders a lot tomorrow.
  • there are several factors you know which could make better teams than us play poor, several of which weigh heavy in our favour for our game tomorrow
  • Just like a tree that's standing by the water side we shall not be moved.

  • Who was the referee for their game against Tottenham where it felt like decisions were actually awarded against them for once? I can't stand Klopps ranting and screaming at referees but perhaps if ETH got a bit less passive about it, we might get more decisions for us...

its funny how bias feeds into fandom, we’ve gotten one pen all year. Is that the referreing you want?
