If Werner continues like this he's going to make Ange's team selection tough when Son is back. Richy is flying & Timo is playing well. Will be very interesting to see.

At one point after the last match, and half way through this one that he must've shagged Udogie's misses, its like he didn't want to pass to him. He gets in some great positions off the shoulder of the right back to run, runs and....no pass! Hopefully they'll get used to his movement quickly and unleash him, that'll build his confidence massively.

Zero chance he will start ahead of Son if both are fit

We should wait another month of so, you cannot judge a player from a handful of games - if we secure Europe and he only commands a feee of around £15M then he is definately worthwhile but the whole front line need to be contributing double figure goals if we are really going to be serious challengers ............... Timo has a number of pluses but he was offside before a minute was even on the clock last night and as several posters have commented his finishing needs to improve big time

His movement is much better than anyone in the team. I guess the midfield lads just arent as used to playing the ball so quickly into that channel because at times he is criminally underused. There was an improvement second half yesterday but against Man City and for periods of the first half last night he was often ignored.

On current form, Id try son or timo on the right personally and pay them both with Richie. Kulu isn't playing well enough to start and johnson is too hit and miss but both would be good options off the bench

If you look at the replay, that offside was super close though. If the chance was converted I'd imagine the VAR review would have taken a long time.

I'd say he's nightmare to defend against when he's on it.

Serious pace.

The start to the second half showed exactly why we need to release the ball early into his path.

As for his goals, he has only played three games but he is having shots at least. He doesn't seem like someone who lets misses get into his head and will just keep going.

He probably could have had another chance near after our goals when Johnson was "not" fouled. Nothing against BJ there but he did take one touch too many, although he should have gotten the foul, Timo was in acres of space.

Makes me believe as we get healthier and *hopefully* playing together more then more scoring chances will come to him as well in those types of situations 👍

With any luck the lesson has been learned and putting Timo away with space to run into will become a more natural option. Sonny and Richy both tend to play with their backs to goal when they're on the left but Timo just wants the ball in the space behind.

I think part of it is just getting used to each other. Had we had him in pre-season he may get more passes earlier. We have now seen what can happen when we get him in behind running at defenders.

I think having Maddison back in the squad really helps in that regard.

Also worth noting that almost all of our key attacks last night, and all 3 goals, came down the left flank - with Udogie, Maddison, and Werner

It is going to be interesting when Sonny comes back.

He is clearly going to start most (if not all) matches - but I think Werner plays the LW role better than Sonny - in terms of taking on players and getting the ball into the box. Sonny is more of a goal-scorer, and thus far, Werner looks really good at creating chances from that wing. Werner also seems to play wider - giving more space to Udogie and Maddison.

I could see Werner and Richarlison rotating, with Son playing LW with Richarlison and striker with Werner.

I'll say this on the back of what he been received as a very positive performance and a good start to his Spurs career. From what I've seen so far, he's just not technically good enough to be a long term solution. I just don't see his crossing or finishing to be good enough. It's either got to be at Sonny's level or we need to keep looking elsewhere. Otherwise we remain "also rans." I think he's a good loan signing, I'm pleased we have him in the squad and think he will continue to contribute pretty well for the rest of the campaign. But I think that if our wing forwards are of the very highest level, then we can win the title next season. From what I've seen of Werner so far, he's not that. Though, given he's going to cheap, I could see an argument for buying him, if we can't get any of our younger targets that we hope to develop.

I guess it depends. If we don't buy a striker in the summer (which gives us the option of Richy as a WF if needed,) then we more likely have room for Werner. But, personally, I think we need to add two real top quality attackers to our squad and then we could genuinely win the Premier League. If we can't do deal for 2, then I could see why we'd make Werner permanent.

Yeah ideally I’d like 2 top class forwards in the summer but it’s likely unrealistic, so I just hope for one and probably Werner makes the most sense

For me you have the best starting combo there for the rest of this season. Werner/Richie/Son
