back to his best you can see why Jose wanted to get 90mins in him the other night. Long term we need a proper back up to not burn him out.

This isn't aimed at you Matty just an observation on the bit in bold, I fully agree.

I think people look at things from the wrong angle when it's come to getting a second striker, (yes I agree there's been woeful negligence at whoever's door for not getting someone in) but if you're going after a player at whatever budget/wages/agent back handers, if that player isn't of the mindset of I'm not going there just to be a backup, I'm going there to play my way into starting with or becoming better than Kane, is that really the type of personality you want?

<Long post enclosed, sorry>
Would supporters be happy with us signing a player who is just "happy to be here" (I know right now yes most would snap your hand off)
May be it's just me but I'd like players with a bit more fight/ambition than that.

Take the Morata thing for example (assuming there was ever any legs in that) he had totally the wrong mindset about the possibility of signing for Spurs IMHO
This for me is the crux of why we couldn't find a CF/ST in world football (again taking funds out of the equation) if a player doesn't have the belief/arrogance (in a good way) that they're good enough to achieve at that level (if it's a younger player) or a notch below that (if you're looking at an older player)

This is where how the club handles Parrots next move for example is crucial, no doubt he needs to play at championship level (or Bundesliga) but it needs to be the right club with the right clauses such that he gets game time (I'm not suggesting he shouldn't have to earn his way into whichever team) but we also need to be able to bring him back regularly for sessions with the first team, 1on1 time with Kane (whilst we're still fortunate to have him) look to bring him back in January to get game time off the bench when the fixtures are piled up, if he's still not ready let him return on loan end of January.

I don't know enough about Troy to guesstimate his ceiling and plot best route forward TBH

I appreciate Harry has set a very high bar but he should be an aspiration not a fear. He's just shown you what hardwork, taking your chances, being a team player and the right attitude and mentality will get you. It's about not having an exotic surname or being any other nationality than English. AFAIK he didn't kick up a fuss on his loan chances where he wasn't being deployed in his favoured position, you hear so many loan stories moan about not being played in their preferred position (agent leaks I assume) keep your head down and learn the position your given.

Just to put my laundry list somewhere.
IMHO we need in no particular order, two full backs, one CB, a defensive midfielder, a-nother CF/ST, however you split it one or two of those signings need to be winners/leaders/masters of seeing out a game) the others I'm happy to go with youth/potential.

Just a bunch of opinions you're allowed to disagree, that's the great thing about discussion.

Nice to see him back on score sheet but it still does concern me that we never seem to sub him.

In the West Ham game it was important to get the full 90 minutes for match fitness but we do need to manage him better in future games and not having a proper centre forward to bring on and hold up play is a concern.

I think we perhaps need to raid the championship in the summer otherwise if the supposed top level players are too scared to come her.

Ollie Watkin has been mentioned and he would be a fantastic signing I reckon, he can play centre forward and also wide right and left so as well as getting plenty of game time rotating with Kane, he can also play alongside him if needed and that would finalise our centre forward and wing options.

Maybe would have been more of a Poch signing than a Mourinho one though.

We must get someone in the summer even if we use all our cash for a forward and a defensive midfielder (defence wise we have Tanganga to provide cover at centre back and right back and Cirkin emerging for left back although ideally we would also get two new full backs for full cover).

Agreed in terms of subbing him, but I think it's the lack of replacements that do it. If we are ever 3-0 up and cruising (remember those days?) at 65-70 mins I can see him coming off with Son going up top and then whoever's on the bench from Lamela/N'Dombele/Lo Celso/Bergwijn/Alli etc coming in to fill the hole Son leaves.

If in any game we're not comfortable, he stays on

Yeah and even if ever are 3-0 up the way we’ve been lately taking off our proper centre forward focal point could lead to a late minute cave-in! ??

This is probably shite, but a chap I play 5 a side with who is friends with a member of the coaching staff, said he'd been told recently that Harry will be off this year. He didn't say who to, or for how much only that the board had told hm (Kane) he was going. The staff are all under strict NDA apparently and can't disclose the details - anyone else heard anything like this?

If it isn’t this summer I’ve no doubt it’ll be next unless we see a major improvement

I think we're going to be fine keeping Kane, can't see anybody willing to pay the ridiculous money we would demand now he's 26 and has had a few injuries plus other talents emerging. A couple of years ago clubs would be willing but I don't see them wanting to try and negotiate a monster fee.

Sure Levy will sell Kane on deflated market when I can't find any possible destinations for him, also Jose would want to replace him with Osimhen who is going to Napoli

I guess only UTD, Real, City or PSG could afford him. It could be that Levy feels he didn't capitalise on Eriksen or TA and doesn't want to miss the boat with his only asset that would cover the recent loan ?

I played 5 side (don't ask where because it's currently illegal) with someone and they said this thread shouldn't be derailed by a fantasist. Has anyone heard similar?

Derail? This is the Kane thread of a chat forum you tit where you discuss your opinion on current topics and things you hear, true or false (probably false in this instance), don't read or reply if you don't want to, that's the beauty of forums! Fantasist? ?

The loan is covered and we are more than able to service it, this has been done to death, we’d not have received that loan if this wasn’t the case.

Actually, if you pass anything off as ITK you need to fully verify it with the mods first. If it’s in the press or whatever then there’s obviously reason to discuss, but stuff like this needs to be approved by the SC admin first or any old troll (not saying you) could just make crap up, pass it off as info he’s received and cause all sorts of angst unnecessarily.

This is probably shite but this guy who I play dominoes with has a great sauce that he won’t disclose (ketchup)

He tells me we are swapping Ndombele for Naymar and Ben Davis for Alphonso Davis and Joe Lewis will be loaning the club 200m interest free for transfers this summer from a couple of Jackson Pollocks he sold

Staff are all under strict NDA and can't disclose the details, except for the person involved in the deal who told the member of coaching staff who told his mate who told a bloke he plays 5 a side with who posted it on a public forum.
