I think we all need to accept that Edwards isn’t going to make it at Spurs. I remember last year when he got his loan move to Norwich I was incredibly excited and checked their teamsheets every week as early as possible to see if he was playing, however he never was and it was purely down to his...
But would signing Martial improve our squad more than the loss of Toby at CB and not having time to replace him. Obviously it’s not that straightforward as what Toby has done to Poch in the past may be to big an issue to come back from.
I don’t understand how their owners think this is the best way to go about it. Most Villa fans are accepting of this move as its genuine progression, it’s not like a mid table prem team have come in for him, we’re genuine title contenders and in the CL. The rest of the team probably wouldn’t be...
Aurier was due to court case delaying his transfer and I reckon the Llorente transfer was so late because Levy hoped something better would come along, when it didn’t, he had to go with Poch’s choice.
My general point was you don’t get value for money if you wait too long, I think both these...
With the itk’s saying it’ll possibly come down to the last day of the TW, I really think Levy needs to modernise his transfer policy.
Waiting until the end of TW’s hasn’t worked for a good few years now, deadline day is now pretty much dead for transfers compared to what it used it be. Very few...
Still gutted we missed out on Sancho last year, he was the one player I really wanted. Tbf he’s got good game time at Dortmund but I think he would’ve been perfect for us, pace and technique unlike Njie and N’Koudou. Didn’t the itk’s say last year, he wouldn’t be out there for long? Hope so as I...
Do you think we were punching above our weight? We certainly were financially and had no right to be as good as we have been over the last 3 years. But in terms of squad ability, I think we had the best team in England for two of those three years and should’ve won something.
If we keep the same...
I do find it funny how whenever we make a bad signing, people instantly blame Levy. But when a signing comes off Poch gets all the credit amongst fans. Can’t work both ways.
Poch wanting Llorente shows he can make mistakes identifying some transfers as there’s no way Levy wanted a 30+ year old...
No I’m saying selling clubs know the market and what they can now ask for. I think Palace can justifiably ask for £65/70m as he’s so important to them but we obviously value him at a lower amount.
Tbh I think Leicester undervalued Mahrez
I’ve sort of discounted Martial due to the itk but yes Pulisic is another one we’ve been linked to. I must admit I struggle to see us buying from most premier league or top European sides as they know the current market and we don’t look willing to pay it
I’d be a hypocrite if I said I think he’ll improve our first team options as I’ve never really wanted him. Hopefully I’m wrong but I’d say he’s still yet unproven at Spurs.
Judging by the ITK’s, Zaha is the probably the last attacker who was high on Poch’s shortlist who we are still in for. Personally I can’t see the Zaha transfer going through as Palace will play hardball as he could be the difference between relegation and staying up.
IMO the scouts need to earn...
Tbh I always thought it was clear that Llorente was never going to work out, my first post on this site was saying what a bad signing Llorente would be. He just didn’t remotely fit our style of play and had no resale value.
Would be interesting to know what’s causing their financial problems as they now don’t have to worry about financing a stadium and they’ve made good money on transfers recently. Roman calling in th clubs debts?
RLC would be a great signing though, his dad effectively said a while ago he wished...
