Don't think the poster was suggesting it was. As an eternal optimist and therefore Gil apologist, tonight was for me the Gil performance that finally made me realise he's never going to make it in the PL. Time to move on.
Thanks for sharing. Feel like Wilson has gone off the boil over the last 5 years but this was a nice reminder of what he does best - and a great bit of backstory on Puskas and Ange.
It's not really madness though, is it? If you stop playing the guy, it takes away one of the assets of your negotiating strategy - which is that you're prepared to walk away. By not playing him, we would have been very much indicating that we were prepared to sell.
Hold on a second, he won the cup with Celtic on the weekend!
"Hi everyone, it’s great to finally get started as the manager of this great football club,"
A few people on here had mentioned his interview on the High Performance Podcast so I gave it a listen last night. Go listen to it. I'm not the sort of person to chuck the word 'inspiring' around but this interview was exactly that. I don't think I have ever come across someone with his degree...
I know that most see this differently to me, which is cool, but I'm very much Enic not out - because I'd rather them run the club than the obvious alternative which is a petro-state or oligarch. Unfortunately the alternative to Enic is unlikely to be palatable either - for very different reasons.
