I might be wrong but i thought the whole appeal of Paratici was to bring Tottenham up to the standard of the historically big clubs, and while his early choice of managers wasn't good, it does seem that he has done what he was brought in to do or at least was on the way to doing it.........such a shame the baggage he brought with him of course, but you can kind of understand why Levy still has him around as a 'consultant' despite the bad press. Not sure what’s happened behind the scenes but the players we’ve been targeting this window have been so much smarter or more interesting than in previous ones. There’s been some sort of shift in our player identification process.
That they aren’t good enough.I know nothing about this guy. But as we apparently have a number of highly promising young strikers already on our books, what message does this send them?

Could be wrong but I get the feeling this is a deal we'd look to do regardless of whether we sell Kane or not this summer.I'm guessing that if we're securing a young talent like this, that there may have been some movement in the Kane deal. If Kane is going then I actually don't mind signing a 19 year old to go as the understudy with Richarlison to an extent. I think it would make it absolutely clear that we are starting a long term project and I would enjoy seeing us trying to sign players and develop them for that project tbh.
When it was Brennan Johnson for 50 mill, it felt really underwhelming like we'd be trying to show we're spending the money or something and I'd feel Johnson would suffer the pressure of that but signing a player like this, feels a bit more long term replacement.
I think what I feel is, if we sell Kane, we either need to really go big and not simply spend what we earn from selling him or we accept the situation as is, go for a longer term approach with a Brighton scouting style approach. Rather than the halfway house of pretending we're going to compete now and we're fine without Kane, where we pretend that we feel what we've used the money for replaces him. Accepting it doesn't and signing players to develop just feels more honest and refreshing.
Veliz no come galletitas. Veliz come empanadas. What's his favourite biscuit?
Even if there isn't clarity about Kane going this summer, it's still highly unlikely he will sign a new deal to stay beyond next summer. Now is the perfect time to be investing in a top prospect who won't come in till the new year, and then when he does arrive to have half a season to train with the team, to hopefully be ready for first team action for the following season.I'm guessing that if we're securing a young talent like this, that there may have been some movement in the Kane deal. Unless Kane re-signs, which seems unlikely, we're gonna need another striker long term anyway. And the suggestion was Rosario want to keep him until Jan anyway, so he might not even come in even as backup for 6 months.

I believe it's - kulu-sev-skiIs his name pronounced Alejo Veliz or Lo Celso?

Veliz is far ahead of any of them really as he is already playing first team football at a relatively high level. The likes of Donley and Scarlett, although talented, are likely a year or two behind him in terms of development. In a year or two if all goes well we could have 3 very talented, young attacking players all as rotation options up front. This is the sort of forward planning we really need. Kane whether he stays or goes only probably has another few years at his current level.I know nothing about this guy. Yeah. But can he eat a whole tube of Pringles??Quality player. Been following this guy since he was a foetus. Went to a private school in the next road to where he lived. Enjoys paddle tennis. 6’4, right footed, strong on the ball, eats a lot of chopped parsley and his girlfriend adores tromboning.
Already better than Tony Cottee ever was. Think Dirk Kuyt and then unthink it. Then think of weeing sideways straight after ejaculation and you’re somewhere near the style he likes to play.
Honestly, the treble is now on.
