I like this idea that we will all of a sudden decide now to show ambition in the transfer window to convince Kane to stay

I don’t know if it’s a PR move from Kane and his camp. I believe he wants what’s best for the club. He literally wants to stay if he sees improvement. Isn’t that what we all want? Just fix the squad so I can enjoy games and watch match of day!

I think it's down to interpretation and believing what you want to fit your view.

Right Brain won't function today but here are some points I've been told on this
  1. Kane and the FAM/Firm asked the club "Daniel" to sit down with Bayern
  2. Daniel Obliged after discussion as it would be in Tottenham's best interest right now as he won't sign a new deal unless significant progress is made during the season if he stays. He also wants the club to get what's deserved from his departure which softens the blow next summer if contract talks don't resume.
  3. 3 meetings have taken place
  4. Daniel has finally decided with the board what he sees' best for all parties regarding the FEE ££££ (upfront payment and Add On)
  5. Bayern Gulped and asked for time to consider if they can provide this package.
  6. They initially thought that a conclusion would be reached yesterday at lunch in London but the 2 parties were way apart.
  7. Daniel has given them until Friday. otherwise, the price will go up and without a suitable plan which the club is trying to activate if this happens, he will pull any deal with the season approaching and it is getting between preparation and further recruitment for Ange.
  8. Ange doesn't want Harry if he doesn't want Tottenham but this right now sits in between going or staying with Harry.
  9. Lastly If this was a relationship status on Facebook "It is Complicated"

This is purely conjecture but if Harry’s heart isn’t ‘in it’ then take the £85m, cut the ties and wish him well.

Ange needs certainty of who he can trust and who he can construct a competitive squad around in the medium to long term - why delay the inevitable and have the collateral damage of Kane’s mindset for the duration of this coming season?

So Bayern this week set by Levy or any other club before season starts set by Kane. Honestly can't see anyone else coming next week, it's Bayern or nobody. I can't see PSG who will likely get Muani.

Fuck em, they need to cut their cloth accordingly then and get on with it.
-----------------------------

People keep saying Levy won't want to lose an 80mil asset for nothing but it isn't as simple as that. He's worth a lot of money to the club through sponsorship and image rights etc that we lose if we sell him. Then you have to guesstimate how much more in prize money we pick up from having him in the side. Once all of that is taken off it's a lot less than 80million that's for sure. Levy will have a lot more factored into his figures than what tranfermarkt have him down at.
And he could be the difference between CL or not

Agree... but you can't fault Kane for listing pros and cons at the moment... he clearly loves and respects the club... but he's also 30 now and wants to win something.

He's not made a clear statement about leaving us... And I'm pretty certain that his preference is to win something with Spurs... long shot !! 😉

If we have to sell him to Bayern because it's the only solution, then we have to get a proper deal. Kane would want that as well.

Thanks for posting all this WLB - really interesting.

For Harry to imply he would consider signing a new deal if there's significant progress made during the season makes sense. However right now it feels like our preseason prep including incoming transfers completely hinge on whether Kane is being sold.

Frustrating for Ange as well as the fans. I'm not sure Harry has explicitly said "he doesn't want Tottenham" whereas in order to want to stay he's said he wants Spurs to significantly improve, which is surely what Ange wants to achieve too - significant progress.

Bit of a catch 22 here, and like you said "It's complicated".

Agree in principle, but Kane has shown he can be relied upon, went and banged in 30 goals after linked to city all last summer too.

keep him, better chance of actually winning something with him

Tuchel has said today that Bayern are looking at a quality defensive midfielder as well because the central midfielders they have are not defensively aware enough... it's not a top priority for them, but if the opportunity comes they will try... So Kane is not the only "big" deal he wants...
