Well if he ends up staying, we're screwed. Apparently we're not getting the CB's we need without him going, and we won't achieve the success we need for him to sign a new deal without those CB's.

Lose/lose.
also screwed if he leaves tbf, screwed either way

The Times reports that Bayern are ready to bid £85m (constituted in what way, can't see as it's paywalled) Ornstein says they are ~£25 million out which suggests we are valuing Kane at £110m, and that points to a potential meeting point of £100m, which is pretty much what we've thought would be an acceptible offer from day 1.

Once they sell Mane this will get done I think.

This all reeks so much of the Bale summer to me.

Think we'll end up doing 90% of our remaining business (both ins and outs) in the final few days of the window in a stupid rush.

Probably lose the first 2 games of the season as a direct result.
Unfortunately this is bang on

A little like the Man City "offer".

Key difference is Bayern need a striker more than Man City did - and there are not many that would push Bayern forward in CL.

This still feels like everyone is moving towards a resolution though - with lots of moving pieces.

But they said there was 150 to spend and Ally G keeps going on about the spare 50m being sat somewhere.

I mean, they proudly announced it as being 150m, so where did 97m come from?
Could be earmarked for absolutely anything, presumably. If we can't get rid of players and are actually serious in there being a bonfire of contracts to get people out of the club and reduce the squad, that alone could cost us tens of millions depending on who we're looking at binning that way if needs be. If the money is sat somewhere if needed, then we may just not have a picture until later as to what hole it needs to plug.

Was really hoping we would have some closure one way or another on this but it's clearly going to drag on for some time yet. Just feel sorry for Ange tbh. We are now under two weeks until our first game, we still have no new CB's and our star player's future is in serious doubt. Nothing surprises me anymore with this club, even when we have a new manager who clearly wants to get us playing exciting football that I'm really looking forward to watching, I'm still just pissed off!

“Market price” is essentially what someone will pay for him though?
Agreed but even the most basic comparison to other premiership players sold in the last couple of year s such as Rice would indicate he is worth a minimum of £100 million and no one has come close to that

I'm pretty convinced that Bayern saying they made 'progress' probably just means we gave them a price. Looks like they are nowhere near it.

If there’s no in’s or outs come Sunday’s game I sure hope the fans give Levy some real stick. The Kane situation is what it is, but not even starting to shift some of the deadwood is ridiculous.

Either get on with it, or hire a DoF and pay someone to do a decent job, it’s always a half arsed, DIY cheap way of doing absolutely everything. The fact we are stuck with that bunch is testament to that and half the reason Kane wants to go.

Oh and sending Donna back where she came from would no doubt help matters too, my cat has better PR skills.

If Bayern had half as much money as they do arrogance a deal would have been struck weeks ago

They're pissing about because they haven't done the tiniest it if research on how Levy operates and they think it will be the same as when they bully a Bundesliga club.

It's boring.

Don't agree with that actually. I've come to terms with it and think we'll do quite well with a hungry new team under Ange.

I actually want us to sell him now. Would be different if he was signing a new contract, of course it would, but he's clearly not

I don't want him going to another PL team, but even more than that i don't want the constant speculation for the next year of where's he going over shadowing the team and Agne's first full season in charge.

I've accepted he's leaving and genuinely think we can have a great season without him , in fact I'd be quietly confident if we could just get a move on with shaping the squad as to what's needed.

And they're about to sell Mane for €25m-ish aren't they...?

‘It’s not my money’ is the worlds worst argument on this topic.

We still need to have the money to spend - it makes sense

We’ll be fine without him, and we can reinvest it. Just get it done
I don’t subscribe to this whole needing to sell Kane argument to buy players. The club isn’t exactly broke by any means. This is just a coping mechanism wheeled out to let the club off the hook.

I think we’d do well to get conference league without Kane. Everyone seems to be hanging their hopes on the defenders suddenly coming in and making things ok straight away.

They’ll need time to adjust to he league and gel with the team. I think people need to prepare themselves for the team to be shipping a lot of goals for the first few months.

Now things could work out ok up front for Richarlison or Sonny, but it’s also possible we have 30 chances a game and score two goals while conceding three or four.

Losing 30 goals from this team is not something anyone should be comfortable with imo.
