the point is that we would score more as a team and not have just one getting all the goals

We were never going to find a direct replacement.

This has been repeated ad nauseam
Richarlison also had a pretty poor injury record last year. It is a huge risk going into the season without another established CF

Honestly people need to ask themselves how many times they've heard the same thing's

- The reason we weren't investing was to put everything into the stadium, when that comes we'll be investing.
- Since the stadium has opened how many time's have we heard that we're ready to back a manager
- That outgoings won't impact incomings, only then for business to slow down and it comes down to getting players out the door
- We're ready to be cut players short and have the shake up the club needs and get consistent underperformers out the door, only for that not to happen
- That a player in a specific position is wanted before a certain date in pre-season, only for it not to happen
- That a manager feels we need a CB but we can't find the right one. Jose, Conte, Ange
- That a manager is more flexible with choice given us options, before we hear the problem was we couldn't get the specific player the manager wanted
- That a manager has become miserable and unresponsive to the cause and gone into self protection mode.

How many times is it going to take before people admit to themselves that they can't accept what's right in front of them, how many different managers, how many different styles, before the stadium, after the stadium, before covid, during covid, after covid. External factors that seemingly don't seem to impact other football teams.

How can a stadium be built with promises of revenue streams the likes of which no other club can compete with, not move the needle for this club. How many times do Arsenal and Liverpool need to outspent, outdo us before we people accept the truth. How many times do we need the same pattern to hit us in the face with different variables both for us and the patterns of other clubs, which we're told aren't sustainable before people stop the illusion of thinking the board care about anything other themselves. confront the pain and join the rest of us in the 500 stages of spurs grief.

I think I'm trying to accept it myself :ROFLMAO:
100% THIS

Not the “Ooh highest net spend last three years”, conveniently overlooking the prior 20 where we’re probably not even in the top ten despite fighting it out in the upper echelons of the league during much of that period!

Our owners are royally taking the piss out of us and I still cannot fathom how some on here fail to see it.

This is going to drag on and on isn't it.

I don't think Bayern have the cash and theyre arrogant enough to think Levy will back down except I don't think be will.

Surely it's Son. Richy if back is to goal and getting into crosses. Son if running onto through balls.

It looks like we will get a back up and sonny can definitely play as striker.
I would like a really high quality replacement back up of course

And how's that affect the timing of our incoming business....

Not looking great.

Interesting, almost like something happened between the low spend in the prior 20 years that allowed us to have one of the highest net spends in the last 3 years. Can't quite put my finger on what that was.

We spend plenty now, we just do it poorly.

Yeah and potentially affect the start of our season and beyond. Another farce that we are in this situation.

Should have been a clear deadline at the start of July for all parties.

Obviously we can’t replace like for like but we should be going out and getting a player who can become a 20+goal a season player over the coming seasons, and can get 15 or so this season.

That’s where a good chunk of the cash should be invested.

What I’m seeing now is people saying ‘well ok if we use the money on the two CBs then we’ll be alright’

This just gives the Levy a massive pass on doing something he should be doing without even thinking of selling Kane.

Yep. It will go on until the last day or so of the window now unless Bayern pull out. It’s what always happens with us. We only need to look back to January and Porro to see that.

I can’t imagine we will make any other signings now either until the last 2 weeks of the window with levy running the show.

Didn't Herc basically say last night that it was done? That, 'bye bye', seemed pretty definitive.

Presumably the media are a couple of days behind.
I think any late night posts from Herc need to be taken with a bit more salt because they often seem to be fuelled by alcohol and emotion.
I'm certainly not going to overly concern myself with a late night, two word post unless there's a little more to back it up.

oh yeah the £1Bn stadium and £853M debt pile - the highest in the PL.

if we were debt free your argument would stack up. Sadly we’re not and so it doesn’t.

good effort though

Hearing they haven't increased their bid, and they will have to if they want this done. Looks like they are so used to just bullying teams into submission which for all his faults won't happen with DL. They know what they need to do now put up or shut up.

Thought he was 100% gone last night, now I'm 50/50.

Well then, that's unexpected. Bit of hope maybe?

So where does that leave our incoming business?

If we're waiting for this to conclude before pulling the trigger on incomings that's just so disappointing again from the Club.

I'm all for standing firm and not being bullied but why are we not pushing forward with addressing the weakest area of the squad, irrespective?

No choice but to conclude that Kane's sale is linked to the quality of CB we bring in 😪

Sounds about right.

Reckon they swanned into town expecting to ultimately get their own way.

Problem is , it's us that suffers if this rumbles on. Also really worrys me that if H stays , from January onwards, every press conference becomes about him again.
