There's a small part of me that hopes Kane wanting Bayern is (very small, but partly) because he wouldn't want to tarnish his legacy at spurs by going to another premier League team right now.

In a way it makes some sense because if he really didn't give a fuck about us he'd see out his contract and sign for whoever he liked.

Maybe me being sentimental but the theory actually does make going to Bayern now make more sense.

The City fiasco 2 years ago makes me highly doubt that, sadly.

I think he has a huge fondness for Spurs but he doesn't exactly strike me as the romantic type and I think he'd happily move to a PL club right now if we were open to selling him domestically and they were offering big money. I don't think he'd go to Chelsea or Arsenal, though.

The Bayern thing strikes me as him not wanting to spend another year out of the CL, combined with him being seduced by Tuchel/Bayern at the idea of being the big star at a massive club and, arguably, the biggest star in the entire league. Plus guaranteed trophies and a serious shot at winning the CL.

Seems if reports are to be believed Levy is meeting Bayern tomorrow.

Last offer (again if reports believed) doesn’t seem like a million miles away so if they’re meeting there must be a willingness on both sides to find a solution. If we weren’t willing we wouldn’t meet them simple as that.

Feels like the beginning of the end and I think it’s likely they’ll come to an agreement. However I think it’ll be kept fairly quiet to not negatively impact our other dealings with clubs thinking we’re flush.

As many have said if he is to leave then Bayern seems like the most palatable location and with 1 year left we’ll get close to £100m which for a player that cost us zero is not shabby at all. Also if it is going to happen then I hope it happens in time for him to get a send off at the Shaktar game. He deserves it.

Might be just trying to cope in my own brain but I do think with Ange’s system goals will come from more places and he’s not a natural fit for a lot of the role requirements.

I would imagine it'd be 90 with add ons taking it to 100+. I just hope Levy is taking on board Ange's advice whatever that is.

If it's £85m with potential add ons to make it a total package of £100m then take it and move on. Will be a very sad day when he leaves but it seems inevitable. No idea how we would reinvest back into the team but I do think Tapsoba/VdV and a Striker would follow pretty quickly in an attempt to appease the fans.

so could easily be 15m more In add ons. I think If it’s 100m in total sterling it’s done
Add in the rumours of a buy-black cause (after a couple of years) and it's not a bad deal. The fact we have benefitted from Kane for as many years as we have is a wonder, really.

He has no more commercial value. Sponsors won't pay for players that won't be here, and the sponsors we already have - have already paid.

He literally is not worth more than what Bayern are offering.

And, we (being the club) probably do want, and need to sell him - given his stance of not signing a new deal.

The is no value to stubbornly holding on to sentiment.

If you can get Kane to sign an extension - then do it. If you cannot, we are not in a position to let that kind of value walk out of the club for free.
You’re always such a bundle of joy! I bet you’re the life and soul of all the parties you’re invited to.

I disagree. 100 mill can't buy that many goals. Ange has enough problems to deal with to get this squad firing, better to push the striker problem to next summer. Even if we don't get a fee.

And as a bonus: I think Kane wants to sign a new deal, we just need to give him a good excuse to do it. Play good football and get good results this season, and he'll sign, I'm sure of it.
If we sell him, he's gone for good.

Remember how painful it was in the second half of last season with the constant stories about Conte's contract and how that clearly impacted the mood in the team. It'll be the same next year if we force him to stay. We need good vibes after the few years we've had. Love Harry but if he wants to go let him go.

Honestly I like the optimism but reject it and he's going on a free to another English team next summer .

But this has been done over and over so let's just see

I don't see how fans could be appeased to be honest. Selling possibly our best ever player due to incompetence over 6 years is unforgivable. We should never be in this position but here we are.

There is no silver lining here unfortunately

Man Utd had to sell Ronaldo
Liverpool had to sell Suarez
Arsenal had to sell Henry

All much bigger clubs than us too.

We'll be ok (y)

Sounds like a deal will be struck so. These kinda meetings normally point towards a deal being done.

As much as it'll suck we'd be mad to say no to 100mil

It would be pure negligence to refuse £100m for a 30-year-old striker in the last year of his contract.

Considering he has no interest to renew either.

It's not sentiment. We're a better team with Kane than without. The idea that we "need" to sell is laughable. We're a very rich club, we can and should take the hit to give Ange the best possible start. It's like Levy has brainwashed fans into caring more about lining his pockets than improving the team.

Out of interest why do you think this?

£105,000,001 in total and they'll have a deal.

No chance he leaves for a penny less than the Declan Rice fee. Levy will rightly say it needs to be a British record fee or forget it.
