Yep. WLB said he remains on the list. Tallies with the fact Man City are struggling to get the Gvordial deal over the line.
I think that’s cope honestly, what’s far more likely is Wolfsburg and Leverkusen aren’t accepting deals that Levy sees as value thus we aren’t making any progress.

We are now getting to a point where this potentially could, and probably will cost us points. When you consider that this is likely to be the most competitive season the Premier league has ever seen it's imperative they come in sooner rather than later, or the cost at the end of the season could be no Europe for the second year in a row.

Don't forget Eccleshare is only writing what he has been told. How much of that does he and we know to be the actual truth??

Urgh. I was hoping when Trix posted there would have been more movement but alas no. I thought Ange is starting to look a bit pissed off already (although could be me or the Kane stuff) but even chatting to our commentator bloke and other times he is looking a bit gruff. It could be just me tho I guess.

How very unexpected... said no one ever.

By all accounts we could, and should, have had 1-2 CBs in at least two weeks ago, with significant numbers of players moving on.

In reality we've sent nobody on loan, and the only permanent exit we've secured is Harry Winks, plus the release of Lucas Moura.

What an absolute joke.

It’s so negligent it’s almost as if something else is going on.

But it’s Spurs. And Levy. So it’s probably just negligent

You'll have the experts come in and say the PL isn't won in August/September but Pep G said last season it can certainly be lost.

No excuse as to why we're in this position tbh (again)

The one position we desperately desperately need and we're messing around with deals.

Zero excuse to have not brought in at least one CB before August.

Unfortunately you get the sense that all roads lead back to a cut price deal with Barcelona over Lenglet.

Looks like we’re yet again going into a new season with one arm tied behind our back.

I feel sorry for Ange.

Agree. Some people will point out there is still over a month remaining of the transfer window, however there’s only two weeks until our first game. And really this failure to sign a new CB needs to be seen in its wider context. It’s not just this window, it’s an issue that has persisted for multiple successive windows.
