You don't need to make a decision about Sanchez. Or Tanganga.
Or Dier - rewind back a couple of months to when Rashford lay that bare for every other striker that has pace.

Or Davies - rewind back a couple of months to when Mbeumo lay that bare for every other striker that has pace.

Or Rodon who struggled to get into the Rennes team that had a injury crisis in defence.

Why hasn't Sanchez been sold or released? If anything it clears a space for a youth player.

It's pure negligence at this point. If the fans can see it, what is the club doing. Let's just remember the Arse have just signed a reserve defender for £34M and spent £19M on another reserve in Jan.

I know ITK has shared bad news. But so far in this window, a lot of stuff has emerged out of the blue. I remain hopeful. Foolishly so, I admit. But hopeful nonetheless. What else is there to feel, after 40+ years of supporting the club? All we have is hope for a better day. So until the window is shut, I'd like to believe there's still a chance with this CB and others.

I’m remaining confident. I’ve no doubt we are looking at some cheaper options too. I think we’ll get in one of the bigger name CB’s we are looking at once we make up our mind and then maybe some surprise that we find through the analytic approach.

That’s how it works at Spurs now right?!

I loved the idea of VDV being left footed and fast, which would give us balance- notwithstanding his other attributes.

I don’t object to a shrewd (cheap) signing of a Japanese CB from the Bundesliga for arguments sake

But VDV was hardly a bank breaker.

Only Winks out by now is piss poor though

Well please explain why two respected posters with inside knowledge are sharing the same info then.

Apologies if the sarcasm didn't come across in my post... It was meant as a take on the fragility of SC, not the questioning of info.

I still reckon somethings going on and it's more complex than us just completely pulling out.

Don't see why we'd spend ages negotiating with both clubs, get VdV over to speak to Ange, then last minute decide "nah both too pricey- back to the bargain bucket".

Probably some kind of Levy fuckery afoot but not convinced we've just given up on signing a decent LCB. Think it's something else (delaying, wanting to sell first, taking time to look at other options, something Kane related?).

He is not due to report back to his club until Tuesday, last I heard he was in Spain. Just might be a simple delay. I know people don't shit the bed on here, but there is always a first time.

Yeah I agree buddy. It might be as simple as Ange assessing his options to see the lay of the land.

Feel sorry for James Madison. Fancy joining this club.
Yay, more bedwetting and overreaction

Doubt it, it sounds like Ange wants more time with the current squad before signing more players.

See below:

🚨Ange Postecoglou 🔛 Squad Changes:

🗣️“I think in terms of the squad I think it's fair to say the reason I'm here is because the club are seeking change. That usually means a change in personnel. I have to work with the certainies I have and tick off the uncertainties one by one. It might take a little while to see my full squad but I'm excited about when I can start working with them.”

Didn’t we get some negative ITK along the same lines just before we got Deki fully signed?

Just need to see how it plays out.

Sorry, probably shouldn’t have quoted you and instead used one of the posters doing mental gymnastics

No worries, in no way do I think a couple of those players should be on the plane instead of a new CB, but let's just see how quickly AP figures that out, or the very real possibility of DL asking him to "see if the squad is that bad"
Would be nice if this place didn't boil over completely though.

If we sign Lenglet instead of a proper CB and that's it I'll quite happily boil over.

Yep, for one, I suspect he's looking at the wage bill with worried eyes.
