Would anyone take both Tapsoba and VdV and Romero was sold?

🤔
No. hope thats no option.

I have seen dodgy defending by van de Ven and Tapsoba, we need someone who knows the league and have a bit of stability. Think Romero will be a good fit to Ange.

Assume there's interest in Romero....

Not for me. I think Romero needs the right coach to settle him, monster of a player imo.

But then again if the manager was on board...

Oooh interesting. And personally, yes. Think Cuti at his best is brilliant, but he’s a bit of a liability at times, has struggled with staying fit and his prioritising being fit for his national team over the club is very frustrating. Also he’s nowhere near as strong on the ball as those two are.

BUT I’m only saying yes if we also bring Adarabioyo as a third option. Think that would be a very versatile, balanced defensive rebuild if so.

🤣🤣Leading question Trix....

I'll play the game, as it wouldn't surprise me if Juve have been in contact with his reps.

Yes absolutely, I like Romero, but I think he's a liability tbh. Everyone on here raves about him, but I think he looks good because of the utter shit around him.

Depends on how much do we get, at least need to cover the cost for Tapsoba and another CB e.g. Tosin

I don't think we can afford to sell Romero when we will already have pretty much an entirely new defence with Udogie LB, VDV/Tapsoba LCB and Vicario in goal. Add to that potentially Porro at RB who's only had 6 months in the PL. Recipe for disaster if we also sell Romero imo.

If we were selling Romero it would have to be for huge money and for me we already need Tapsoba and VDV. As such I'd say we'd need 3 quality additions there if he left. Romero is genuinely one of the best CBs ITW when he's on form.

Personally I'd like to see VDV come in and bed in at LB. I think a back 4 of Emerson, Romero, Tapsoba and VDV would be a very solid base for us to build on.

If Romero isn't interested in Ange's project AND we get a fat offer for him then maaaybe but would be a big risk.

Going into a PL season with a brand new CB pairing, neither of which have PL experience, would be a rough ride. Think we'd be better off trying to convince Romero to stay at least one more season as with him leaving it would be an awful lot of change at once and that usually doesn't end well.

Doubt any club would pay what we would want for Romero tbh.

Levy would ask for upwards of £65m.

He probably would want to go Barca/Madrid and they’re definitely not paying that type of fee for him.

We are in transition , we wont get relegated no matter what we do...if he doesnt fit / want to fit get rid - painful rebuilds are not keeping players that are not right

Only if Romero didn't want to be here.

Pretty much this. There were grumblings and rumors that he wasn't exactly happy at the end of last season and I try to stay open minded about it.

Remember when Jan looked like a grumpy school kid towards the end of AVBs reign, only to become world class under Poch's system? I think Romero has that ability to become that in a high-pressing system.

But part of me also wouldn't be surprised if Romero is the kind of CB that will get a couple costly reds each season. There were some points last year where he'd step so far up in order to press, but then leave a gaping hole in the back line (of 5)... scares me a little with 4 atb.

Tapsoba seems to have a calmness about him that reminds me of Vertonghen. And vdV has a ceiling that has him developing into Vertonghen but as a super athlete. There's no doubt in my mind they could form a super partnership themselves if everything goes to plan!
