Of course he has quality sources. I don't get the hate for him from some,.Yes he can be a tap in merchant at times but he breaks stories and gets updates before others all the time. Given he covers all top clubs and isn't tied to one club or one league he does a decent job to be fair.

Would rather 20 posts by him than 1 by some of the utter shite aggregators or pretend ITKs on Twatter (some of whom I blocked/muted long ago)
Yeah, he's a tap-in merchant and regurgitates the same info all the time to keep fans interested but his "here we go" is about as reliable as it gets in transfer journalism and he's very often the first one to confirm a deal is done.

Overall I think he's more of a positive than a negative, even if he's grating at times.

I find him fun personally and it adds a level of excitement. It really is silly season after all so you should play it up to the ridiculous to match all the hype and hoopla. And who could hate on the absolutely wank photoshops?

Agree with this and I don’t hate him at all just never actually sure if he has sources or not or just times his barrage of posts very well…

I think that'll be our business done now after Solomon and this guy. The only other one I could see happening is Lenglet.

Does Fabriano actually have any sources at all do we think or does he literally just post and repost every 2 seconds anything he hears that seems fairly credible?
His information is extremely reliable. Just rubs some people up the wrong way because of his rather unique style of reporting. Fair play to the bloke, has created an incredible following and reputation at a very young age.

he's like Shams of US NBA twitter news or Adam Schefter of NFL - they repeat the same shit often (not as bad as Fabrizio). They all get their sources mostly from agents. So pretty reliable.

Well we need 2 cbs, ideally with a new starter coming in this week. If the other is to be Lenglet he can arrive on deadline day that doesn’t matter. I do think outs need to be the focus after Solomon + a centre back. If they can clear the decks efficiently wouldn’t surprise me to see them move for 1 or 2 more toward the end of the window.

Lenglet needs reps in AP's system as well. Just hope he is not signed.

I suspect at the start Romano was more of a charlatan but by becoming as big as he is now with his reach, has acquired actual contacts and now gets real information.

I actually think its a bit the other way around - I think he started with 1-2 real sources with agents - got a few calls right, built up his following, and also expanded his "network" albeit many are not as close as his initial sources, and now has a team tweeting non-stop, and following up on media stories around Europe.

He has sources and in my opinion I think some clubs/agents even leak him information to use to their advantage. Thing about it from his perspective, he has to be extremely careful because the first time he Here We Go’s something that doesn’t happen, he will get abused to the end of the earth.

Didn’t he start as a member of Di Marzio’s staff? I don’t think he’s ever been a charlatan.

I can understand why his constant (non)updates are a source of annoyance to those who follow recruitment closely, but he’s incredibly reliable.

I used to think Romano was a tap-in merchant with no real info of his own, but it is undoubtedly true that he now gets more exclusives than almost anyone (Ornstein probably the only person who comes close). My theory is that seeing his insane popularity and social media presence, people with knowledge of transfers now see him as the best way of getting info out there. To be fair to him, it is clear he works incredibly hard and to be honest his updates on nearly every transfer are extremely admirable, even if they are often repetitive and sometimes frustrating.

Romano’s (non-) updates can be annoying, but we’ve all seen how it gets on here when there’s no new news to report. Some people go, shall we say, a little funny. So, I wouldn’t be surprised if his repeated posting of the same info started as a result of 100s of “any news on …?” comments.

I think it works for the journos too, they feed him decent info, he tweets and gets the plaudits but he lets them know stuff in return that way when they are doing their research they can use him as a second source to verify their stories.
