Depends how the remainder of the season goes imo.

If he gets us Champions League 2 years in a row, I think we should all be incredibly grateful.

This exact scenario of the fans turning on the manager happens time after time here. We all start off by pointing the finger at Levy, but eventually it’s always the manager that’s in the wrong.

A far better game, but I'm over hoping for one of those every few weeks. Still waited until 80 mins to bring on any fresh legs and by then we'd already started rocking and tried to piss the game away. His treatment of Danjuma is also absolutely pathetic. There's a player there that we need to see whether is worth keeping hanging around, but I imagine he's already counting the days until the loan is up.
That's not Conte's problem though is it. His job is to win football matches not give auditions to players so the fans can evaluate them.

Keep him on and backing him properly should be the plan.
I would be fine with this too, except for the fact the club just won’t work like that. If the club magically decided to act like Chelsea and gave him everything he asked for, and became ruthlessly driven for immediate success, then yes keep him. The club doesn’t work like that though, rather they’re pretending to act big but in reality doing the opposite. They should just embrace that and build a project the fans can get behind to create sustained success further down the line. The club must pick what it wants to be and build from that base they decide on. Build and continue to build together and through adversity because the philosophy and ideology should override everything else, especially in the short term where growing pains are inevitable. No more halfway commitment. No more decisions that only boost the ego of those in charge. Painting a picture they’re running like the big boys but then not going all the way to actually act like one. The club can miss me with that bullshit.

Are you kidding? Over achieved? Honestly don't know how to respond
City, Liverpool and Chelsea all have better squads than ours, Woolwich and Utd are at least on par with Utd's spend far outweighing ours. Therefore I think we should expect to be anywhere between 4th and 6th.

Edie: In terms of cost (not value) we have the 7th highest squad.

We played well on the whole but Forrest were shocking so I don’t know if it really tells us anything. The next test will be in three games when we play Brighton as I expect us to win the next two games really. Positive was the players haven’t given up completely it seems but I still don’t see Conte staying beyond the season. At least one game a week suits Conte so hopefully we will make it through the rest of the season. It will certainly help us to make a proper plan.

For me that's not the case. Levy is always the one at fault but there does come a time when regardless of whose fault it is the manager is also detrimental to the cause and two problems are worse than one.

Was starting to think we were at that stage but I'm not so sure after today.

Why can't we just do this every game?

THFC squad/Conte: Oh you want something that isn't turgid and might even get us a result do you, you whining bastards? Well, we'll show you. You've called down the thunder. Careful what you wish for! You'll rue the day! Etc etc

Fans: thanks

We've been inconsistent all season. Conte on 1 game a week is a different animal. 11 games to go, we could (I said could) finish over 80 points. Mental.

I don't mean for the fans as much as for the club to take a look at the bloke. He does work for the club after all, despite acting the reverse.

Agree. We are down to 1 game per week now which is where Conte thrives. Even at other clubs he struggled in the Champions league. Yes the football may not be great but top 4 is important. If AC still has enough of the dressing room to make it happen we should stick till the end if the season for me. Points are all that really matter now.

Pretty sure whatever happens at Southampton we'll be 4th in International break.

That, for me , means that Conte will last the season now.

I agree with it , we don't have the 4th best squad so certainly over achieved in terms of position. Just not overachieved in terms of the football we've played to get there. I think it's also a case that Liverpool and Chelsea have also been poor in that department too which has helped us be where we are. City are the only CL team above us this season so I think it's fair to say we're over achieving really.
