How did he expect us to open up a stubborn defence by bringing on Sanchez for sess. Bring on begwijn and Lucas and have a go , a draw was no good so go for it . To just watch the game go by is baffling . What was that first half about , an injury stricken Brentford with nothing to play for wanted it much more than us .
I understand your point, on the other hand though that point could be vital come the end of the season. We weren’t at the races today or last week, why that is I have no idea. We look afraid to lose, I think more twists and turns will happen. Heck wouldn’t surprise me if we beat Liverpool and lose to Norwich.

Last two games he’s failed to have a plan b, which has ultimately cost us.

He simply cannot persist with the same line up next week, if he does & things don’t go to plan, he has to change things MUCH sooner ??‍♀️

This Doherty thing is being over played, the last 2 games he played for us he played LWB and was adequate nothing more. Emerson played rwb in those games. This isn't down to one player being out, it's down to issues with the system, lack of substitutions & also the players being piss poor in last 2 games where they can't make simple passes.
Exactly this. Doherty has had about 5/6 decentish games in his whole time here. You could understand the drop off In form if Kane was missing. But Doherty??

Almost like the players know they are getting picked and are getting complacent. Moura and Bergs need a start. Freshen it up a bit.

The ironic thing about that, and I know many will disagree, but as we are now Lucas in the side wouldn't be the worst thing.... If we were still our flowing, creative, effective patterns of play selves as we'd shown before the last few games I would say he's the last thing we need but for whatever reason, we're not. In fact, the last two games very much remind me of earlier in the season when Lucas was probably the brightest attacker on the pitch for us because we were so incapable of crafting out chances.

Of course I'd rather get clicking as a unit like we were not long ago but if that can't be reproduced I certainly wouldn't be against that idea. I think Bergwijn would be the 'tidier' option though and the ball retention on the side with him and Kulusevski will probably be quite good as they both hold it up and use their bodies well but I think Conte is reluctant to use him.

Lucas is good at picking up the ball and dribbling at defenders in central areas. I think had he come on earlier yesterday it would have made a difference. Maybe he should be given another go?

Except his first touch is appalling and ends up with him giving the ball away more than he contributes hence why he’s not in the side

Everyone just looks leggy and tired of thought suddenly, which is weird now we're at one game a week... ??‍♂️

As do I. I think what we had out there was easy to predict and defend against, Lucas can add a different dimension that I see no reason to not be explored when nothing else is working. Think he should have been on at the 60 minute mark at the very latest personally.

I think if we had a better solution than our current RW to convert to RWB I would say to go with that and just try and introduce Lucas earlier but I don't think we do and I don't think there's a more viable option to then play at RW than Lucas.

Except his first touch is appalling and ends up with him giving the ball away more than he contributes hence why he’s not in the side

This is true, but when you're not creating a single thing anyway, the risk/reward when it comes to Lucas might just be worth it. I would rather have Lucas on to achieve just the chance of creating something from nothing, than to persist with something that hasn't yielded a shot on target in what's now 180 minutes and counting.

If it continues into the Leicester game, something has to give.

The day before the game, a reliable French media outlet says Conte would be more than willing to replace Pochettino at PSG.

The following day Spurs then play out arguably their worst performance under Conte.

After the game, Conte, according to Alasdair Gold, was upbeat and laughing during the post game press conference and football.london understands that Conte barely spoke a word to his Spurs squad in the changing room after their latest dismal display.

Something isn’t right.

Wouldn't surprise me alright.

Disagree, as we don’t have a creative CM, the wingbacks are absolutely crucial in linking play, driving us forwards and creating attacking opportunities, Doherty was doing this brilliantly from RWB and then when he was switched to LWB he still got a goal and an assist.

Emerson on the other hand cannot pass 5 yards, cannot beat his man, doesn’t link play and doesn’t drive us forwards, it’s actually a massive massive issue having Doherty out given the way we play.

I’d look at starting bergwijn in the inside forward position and moving Kulu to wingback or if we have to persist with Emerson then we could switch to 3-5-2 to get more of the ball and put Kulu as a n.o 10 behind Son and Kane.

Carry on as we are and we will continue to have the same issues I’m afraid.

It’s a combination of both, but re- Doherty see my above post.

Common knowledge that he steers clear for a day or two after a bad performance.

Well that doesn't sound good. If he wants out already, that would be a crushing blow to the club.

Could be why performances have fallen so dramatically if the players have picked up on it.

I like Conte and if he is committed to staying with us feel he is the right man for the job.

But, he needs to be more flexible and change things up a bit.

Brentford were so similar to Brighton, in that we weren't creating, we were largely being outplayed and there was nothing coming back. When things clearly aren't working, when we are completely nullified you need to make changes and much earlier.

To be serious about top 4, we shouldn't sit back and watch games pass us by in hope of nicking a goal.

That is unless one is suggesting Brighton and Brentford are better than us and have better squads and seeing a point as a good result?

I'd like us to stop being so passive, put another man in midfield and wrestle the game away, we are making it too easy for team to just pass around us and dominate possession.

I doubt that he will make any radical changes.

I’m not so sure about the PSG rumours. If you win something with Spurs you are guaranteed to be regarded as the greatest coach to ever walk on this earth. Surely that’s more important, right?

Of course, but he might think he’s got no chance of winning anything with us ?
