What's surprising to me is that a pro-player doesn't know or see the need to constrain what they eat.

You've seen how incredibly dense some of our squad appear to me though mate.

But standards should be set by management, and if not by them, by their fitness team & sports scientists.

I have been watching a bit of Ben Foster on youtube, he has a great channel, but he puts ketchup on EVERYTHING. He isnt fat and infact he is a keeper who would use less energy than outfield players.

Its not the ketchup - ketchup is a 100 calories a day... as an example and whilst its not the best nutritionally, it isnt getting them fat. Mayo may be though.

I just think theyre eating the same as before but expending far less energy because they were too busy sitting in their 18 yard box for the last two years.
Ketchup is full of sugar, has 27g per 100g, that's nearly 7 teaspoons of sugar. Low on calories high on sugar. Mayo has hardly any sugar. Better to count the carbs than calories

You wouldn't put 7 teaspoons of sugar in a cup of coffee

It's not about the ketchup IMO. It's about the kind of food that you put ketchup on.

I suspect ketchup is a throw away item theyve used in the article but there is more to it than just ketchup. But taking the ketchup point, i use the no sugar no salt one which has 4g per 100g - and I suspect they dont use ketchup everyday.

But there is clearly more food items than ketchup that cant and shouldnt be eaten. Essentially eat whole foods give or take the odd treat here or there...

Maybe not, but I do know someone who puts 5 in. Some real cranks out there.

No one really needs any sugar it doesn't help with anything for athletes I know it was a trend once upon a time to add dextrose to protein shakes for an insulin spike to promote recovery and muscle growth the insulin was thought to carry protein to muscles faster but i think its been proven to be false

Having read the Athletic article i'm actually really surprised that things like ketchup and mayo are available to the players. These items fall in the same category as soft drinks; should not be consumed by health-conscious people let alone pro athletes.

Please tell me McDonald’s fries are not viewed in The same light?

Twitter is awash with stories about Conte and the players. I reckon 50% is made up and the other 50% is make believe.

I wont be satisfied until I hear that Conte is making the players forage for their own fruits and hunt Deer and Elk as our Paleolithic ancestors once did.

BBQ sauce is alright though isn't it... Isnt it?!

I purchased this jack daniels bbq sauce from tesco the other day. It is pretty much the best bbq sauce I have ever bought. It's relatively new and think it is is sensational. 200 calls for 100ml... I use 200ml.

That should definitely be banned.
