Might be a goer, but only yesterday Romano was suggesting that Silva maybe fancied Spain and Champions league football.

Personally I think we would be mad not to take the Silva option seriously if really there.
He is a game changer and brings so much to the table that we are missing lately.

I’d play him as the 10 too, not out wide on the right. Sometimes I think his game is stifled at Man City. If he was played centrally I bet his goals and assist figures would be much higher.

I think it would be amusing to bid for him while still refusing to deal with them on Kane.

No way an expert but if a player is as in demand as Haaland will be, can clubs not offer over the release clause?
It's football remember no rules apply do they when money talks?

Why would they do that? Who would pay more, when Dortmund have to accept 75 million.
Now the negotiations with the Haaland and his agent could get ridiculous, if that's what you mean.

Would be the only positive I would take from this, the fella is world class imo

Yeah we keep hearing cash only, but if this is possible and the Kane transfer is inevitable than we should do it.... although I suppose it very much depends on what City are valuing him at.

Bernardo Silva is easily a £50m player if not more.

I’d snap City’s hands off if they offered something like £100m + Silva.

Just want to be done with this whole saga now tbh.

Bit of both, why wouldn't a club pay more for a player like Haaland who would be in demand obviously... Its football where money basically talks. So say both Chelsea and City agree terms and are prepared to meet the £75m what would stop them offering more to gazump the other?
Of course they could just offer rediculous wages etc but seems that wages will be the basis of new FFP so that could change too

Want it done too, not sure any City players would want to come to us though? No CL and probably a pay cut, doesn't sound too enticing to me...

Should turn the tables and independently bid 40m for Silva, see what their valuation is, then we have a basis for negotiation.
Would happily settle for 100m + Silva just to get it done.

It’s not going to be that though realistically. He’s only 26 and a top class player.

27. And believe me I know, I don't think there's a chance in hell he'd join us. I believe he's on 150k a week, we'd need to surpass 200k imo to try and convince him to join.

But at the same time I dont want our pants pull down with the fee, and I believe it'll be daylight robbery if it was say 100m and Silva.

Not sure I’d go that far. He’s a £50/60m player in today’s market.

He might be more open due to the Mendes link and Nuno as manager.

But yeah I’m reaching, it’s hard to imagine he would be interested.

100m and silva I’ll take. Bernardo is such a classy player and only just turned 27! So will start to peak.
I remember seeing him in the flesh when Monaco beat us 2-1. One could argue he really hasn’t pushed on since then, because he was simply wonderful that evening.

All hypothetical - but if the only barrier to city players coming to us is the wages, city could subsidise them (like they did with Adebayor).

Suspect we're not that appealing a prospect right now though

Is Silva going to want to join a club that isn't in the CL, a club rebuilding with aspirations of top 4 again..... I doubt it very much.
