Embarrassing Harry, had you down for better than this. Stay another season, earn your World Cup place by scoring goals and then leave. Please don't insult the supporters' intelligence with any more crawling gestures.

Actually a simple sorry would have sufficed. But he hadn't mentioned that at all. He said he wouldn't jeopardise the relationship with us, no Harry, you had in fact taken us for a ride, again.

He just sank deeper with each day, with each move, with each action he takes until he admits his mistake and apologise. If not it just makes this saga all the more disappointing each time. ?

One thing tho, the media will be all over that! They'll paint it poor Harry the victim. They do a fantastic job of 'selling' our best players to United etc. Spurs will again be painted as the bad one here..

That statement has pissed me off even more about the situation. When they broke it on TalkSport I was hoping it would be followed by a formal transfer request.

All it reads to me is "Well, I got played by City so I guess I'm staying.".

If he stays it's going to be a long way back to the feelings of love from prior the Neville interview. To start he needs to get rid of his brother. He needs to get his head down and work his ass off.

I still believe he will be a City player by the end of the transfer window. The damage is done unfortunately.

But we can be more confident that it’ll be a good fee and not us getting fucked over.

I think you’ll find very few people who wouldn’t be happy now if he left for £160m+

This will all be a distant memory when he scores a last minute winner in the North London derby :cautious:
I agree. Fans are fickle.

But, he has lost a bit of his "untouchable" status with the fans. When this all started - almost everyone stood with Kane, and said he would be "professional" etc. Now, he has lost that benefit of the doubt.

I'd have more respect for him if he came out and held his hands up and said 'sorry I was naive, out of order and misjudged this terribly'.

Be a man about it.

I'm not buying this. It's been 5 days of Kane watch to see if he showing up. The moment someone said he was on strike he should have come out and said no he isn't. This statement had only come out because he knows there is a serious risk that Man City will go all out for Messi so wants to build bridges.

Even Nuno refused to discuss it. He could have easily said no he on holiday but didn't.
And what is so special about Kane that he deserves an extra weeks holiday?
All the other England players are have been back, some came back early yet Kane thought he should fuck off for an extra jolly to a covid hotspot?!

What has his transfer got to do with the FA? Other than registering it and processing the transfer.

The FA can't condone the England Captain not honouring his contract.

It brings the game into disrepute, and would create a potential double standard every time an England player (or any player) is disciplined for off the pitch behaviour.

Dharmesh getting texts from “agents”... ?

...or his mate Phil who walks the dog during Sunday league games and starts sentences with “I was an agent once...”

I don't belive him. And if he's lying the club wont make a statement that calls him a liar. The statement is a win win situation for Kane and for the club.

I already questioned his professionalism when he made the interview with Neville. He can still be very useful but it will never be the same again.

Like everyone else, i'm suspicious about the statement because it took so long and the situation was allowed to fester. Spurs have never really been rapidly reactionary with media stories so a bit of ineptitude isn't beyond the realms of possibility.

BUT.........I said at the start, there's things we don't know and it was totally at odds with how he's always conducted himself. Could this all be a load of whitewash? Absolutely. But it could also be genuine. It could, that's all, i'm not totally writing that possibility off.

If he turns round now and says he's staying, that's all I give a fuck about. He's returning to training. That's a start. If people want to hate him, fill your boots but i'm never going to, even if I don't like what he's doing, the bloke is a legend.

You watch, now something will come out that makes my faith in him totally misplaced

Sorry for sticking up for him :D
I suspect if you highlight the whole message you'll see "written by Spurs PR team" in blue at the bottom! :cautious: :shifty:

He also said:

"I would never do anything to jeopardise my relationship with the fans ..."

What, like do an interview to Gary Neville indicating that you want to play for Man City before our season has ended? And then go AWOL and miss the first week of pre-season under a new manager? Too late mate!

Shag me sideways! There are a lot of people in here making wild, toxic assumptions about a situation they know nothing about. have You ever been painted as the villain in a situation where you are not because you refuse to rise to it and shout as loud as those damning you? Just saying, let’s calm down and see what happens before turning on somebody who actually stuck with us longer than most would nowadays

Well, I've never not turned up for work without being asked where was I. I always had to explain my absence. Why can't he? Why is he the exception when everyone else has turned up? Are you seriously suggesting the club told him to stay away? If so, why did Nuno say it's an internal matter to be dealt with? Those are not the words of someone who is happy with their key player staying away.

Remember when Shearer kicked Lennon in the head? And from memory, threatened not to play for England if he received a ban

All I read is Me Me Me in that tweet! All spurs fans have had 10 years of defending him, singing his name every week. Yet it takes a week to write a tweet, turn up late and have zero pre season ( hasn't even spoke with our new manger). H Go fuck yourself.
