Team were awful all round but 4 subs at half time really limited our tactical options second half. Surprised at that.

Who’s our next manager?

We’ve got our first choice eleven, which I think everybody would pretty much agree with. Make 3/4 chamnes to that 11, any 3/4 across different positions and you’re should be ok. Make the number of changes we made and you are asking for trouble.
Sanchez and Davies as partners was a disaster. Sanchez needs a leader beside him and Davies is not a leader and his experience at centreback is virtually non existent.

Right. Bad day at the office. A few players might have started to believe the hype, but if there was a game to lose in order to remind them about how hard we need to work for success then an early group game in the Europa is it.

FFS knuckle down and come back with a point to prove on Sunday.

For me it was lazy thinking.

Any tactical tweaks? How many shots did his super subs get on goal?

I don't think anyone is suggesting the subs were successful (although I put that more at the players door than the managers) but to say it showed no respect for the opponents is just flat out wrong.

I really don’t understand how some of you can say “fair play, Antwerp were the better team, they deserved it” etc and then say “absolute lack of desire. Embarrassing performance” Had we lost 1-0 to a PL team and put in that performance in, we’d be calling for heads.
It is important we do look at this in context though. Europa league group stage away to a team we should beat. Arrogance, overconfidence, lack of respect, yeah there were all of those. It’s a game we can afford to lose, although it is embarrassing, and yes, that performance was shite. I’m angry, yet I understand that this is easily reversible. It’s annoying that these players are paid handsomely, they shouldn’t pick and choose when to turn up, but this has always been a part of football. I’m confident the urgency will be back for Brighton, it has to be given the context and the competition, which is why I feel the players and team struggled tonight. Context and competition didn’t really seem to be enough for them, just how it is sometimes unfortunately.

The only change we need to make is the manager, for a youngish progressive football thinker. Mourinho is old hat!

Don't think Jose will trust some of them in future now and it will be interesting to see if he bins anyone off.

9 changes was way too excessive but obviously he felt they had shown him enough to get the job done in previous games.

I am very worried about Bale, he looks way off and we all know he's more of a player that relies on moments and not always part of the construction. If he's not involved we are essentially a man down.

Really struggling to understand how you’ve made that conclusion tbh.

My point is you never ever see us congratulating Premier League teams when we put in equally bad performances. If anything it belittles Antwerp.
Sorry but I’m not following you at all. It doesn’t belittle Antwerp in any way to say they deserved to win and were the better side. It’s as close to a fact as a subjective judgement could ever be. Not does it change the fact that we were utterly awful. If we play like that and lose in the premier league I would have no problem saying the same

How many times has that been said in the past? But, alas, here we are!

Also I don’t think dele was the worst player tonight he tried to open their defense up a few times but he’s the whipping boy at the moment

How could they never learn, that's what bothering me. This core of players have been through European ties for so many seasons and the disappointment in one of our earlier CL season was exactly the same - when the team seems so confident but turned up unprepared and lack of sharpness.

Do they really think they are invincible? If so, prove it,

We’ll see if you do then. I have never been in a match thread where I’ve seen such collective sucking up to the opposition. It’s embarrassing tbh.

Winks is not good enough and needs to go. Who
Does he think he is taking that shot on when he hasn’t scored a goal since forever! On top of that he nearly gifted a second, made no key passes. What is it that he actually offers?
Can i winner this twice. He is so over rated.

So Dele off for peh I'd take reguillon off (Toby) as well I think he has been really poor. Then we look at the front line, son and Kane on at 60 mins if nothing has changed.

Some good and some bad and some very bad (Dele)
We lost and Antwerp deserved their win, a very solid defense that was too strong to break. I agree with Jose's subs but as a whole, we did not play to our expectations. Maybe, a good thing for the players to come down back to earth and dig in to win future games.
I would have thought after the Burnley display on Monday they would have "come back down to earth"

Alli and Winks in midfield away from home. We deserved all we got. They were tough, resolute, organised. Surely Jose knew this. They were basically Burnley with better players. Yet he played attacking full backs and a chocolate teapot midfield ?

Let’s be honest, to a man they were better than us tonight; they defended absolutely brilliantly and we couldn’t quite make that decisive move in the final third. I would say that I think Mourinho got it wrong making so many changes - I would have liked to see Gio pushed further forward as we didn’t have anyone in midfield to create with Ndombele not around. Anyway, I’m not going to get too carried away; get a result against Brighton and I’ll have forgotten this game even happened.
