Maybe my memory serves me wrong, but I'm pretty sure everyone on here was blinded by optimism over Soldado (and Janssen to a degree) and convinced he was just a goal away from becoming amazing for ages.
Thing is, when the crowd turns, it really turns, so once the pendulum swings the other way it's hard to remember anything positive ever being said about our duds. Soldado and Janssen are now just pure meme-fodder and the great hopes and the huge degree of denial we had over them is all but forgotten.
Cos I'm a fucking nerd I had a look through the Nkoudou thread a while back and a fair few people on here were convinced he was going to be a success over a year after he'd signed. But now we all remember it like he was a confirmed dud from day 1 with the fans baying for his blood.
