All this Poch revionism needs to stop as well.

We were playing this bad under him for a good 9 months towards the end of his tenure.

Its easy to bash the new manager when he's working with the same player mentalities and deficiencies that got the last manager sacked.
Sorry to take it away from the match here but this has to be said.

The man got us challenging for the title, made us top four regulars, finishing above the scum and reached a champions league final. No revisionism there. I dont know what era you grew up in but in my 41 years on earth pochs era was my favourite (I was too young for the 84 win).

If you dont want him back thats understandable as he looked a beaten man in the end but he deserves the love he gets from so many of us.

ITK said we tried before we hired Mourinho, said no thanks.
That’s not uncommon for a manager that is in a job mid season. I’m not saying he could be persuaded but it’s who I’d like to see us try again for as he is the closest to Poch 2.0 that I can think of.

Yes the players aren't pulling their weight. But the manager sets them up and influences them. We've been shit since Jose has come in. The players are at fault however, the right manager would get them playing and bring results.

I'm not saying the answer is Chris Wilder however, look at the results he gets with that squad. Not one of sheff uniteds players is better than a spurs player however he gets them playing and brings results.

We need a manager that can do that with this squad.
Been shit long before that.

I have no issue with Davies atm. He's been playing pretty well.
He's no Roberto Carlos sure, but he's been fine.
And actually when he has got forwards as a regular fullback (not this sliding to a back three to release Aurier) he's actually lined quite well, and provided some much needed balance.

Vote for Davies :D

He is the worst of us, big time.

I'm ok with Winks, as it stops GLC dropping so deep. But definitely no more Sissoko for me. He just hides when we're in possession. And his touch when he does get it, urkk.

Ndombele just has to get fully fit and up to speed, because he should be starting by now. Embarrassing to be behind Sissoko

Careful saying that about Sissoko. There some serious defenders of him.

I think there is only space for Sissoko or Winks. Either one of them have to be the deep player and giving GLC and NDombele more freedom to carry the ball. I would prefer Winks simply because we need someone to connect defence and midfield. We can't have a midfielder that plays hot potato with the ball. I also think Davies needs to move to CB or leave. We need genuine LB and RB that can support attack.

I'll admit to not having seen the entire match but Lamela is really pissing me off the last few matches with his constant over playing!

I hope Kane gives his teammates a right rollocking behind closed doors because he's getting fuck all service from out wide or the midfield.

Quite honestly if we can get good fees for them Lamela and Lucas, can join Aurier in players I'm happy to see the back of in the summer.

I'm fed up watching such a lopsided unbalanced mess.

I genuinely cannot fathom how you have drawn that conclusion but hey, its all about opinions

Well, he’s not looked particularly good aside from the very odd almost special glimpses of magic, he doesn't move around the park with any mobility, is rather cumbersome and seemingly unfit, misplaces passes left, right and centre and just looks generally uncomfortable on the ball. And the rumours from the camp suggest his heart isn’t really in it - a bit too ready to decide he’s injured.

Like I say, I feel there’s probably a real gem under there somewhere but I’m not confident it’ll come to the fore. I really hope it does.

Not in every match and not as bad as this. We still managed to win games and put performances in from time to time. We got up for the big games.

Under Jose we are atrocious in every single match.

Yet we’ve been better than when Poch was in charge at the start of the season.

Since the season recommenced we’ve been defensively solid with the exception of Sheff U. Pre lockdown we were conceding goals for fun.

Was a penalty though...

We all will remember the Poch era with good memories. It was a great few years.

But let’s not blame Jose completely for what we are seeing now. The last 9 months of the Poch era was very bad indeed. We were much worse than we are now. The team needs a pretty big investment and several players moved on. That does not happen overnight.

Not vintage
Bournemouth 0-0 Tottenham
Tottenham did not attempt a single shot on target in this match – it’s the first time Bournemouth have ever stopped their opponent from having an attempt on target in a Premier League match, in what is their 186th game in the competition.

This is a question perhaps for another thread... I was slating the players even whilst Poch was here saying regardless of who we bring in if the players are shit the players are shit... Why did Poch not deserve to rebuild the squad?

The issue I have isn't with Jose as a person, as I kinda like him and always have, it's the archaic tactics... Zero shots on target... Atleast with Poch we tried to attack... With Jose... What are we trying to do... That first 45 mins where we just defended in out 18 yrd box was utter shit... Our players regardless of how shit are slightly better than that and it was Joses job to get that out of them...

Otherwise we may as well have stuck with Poch... Can't go back to say well it was the same with Poch... You're expecting Jose to improve our performances...

Why wouldn't he? All the top managers do it - some of you want to have a pop for the oddest reasons.
No, we have a pop for the 85 minutes that followed and no shot on target against a side with one of the worst records in the league. The non-penalty is just a distraction from the real issues, we should be able to win these games without bemoaning a 5th minute penalty.

I highly *highly* doubt it, just because of the money involved (unless there was some magical end-of-season position clause). When Mourinho took over we were in 14th but since then we've been right up in the mix for European places and they've fucked it.

People keep saying this as if we weren't three points off 5th/6th at the same time.

Don’t let the champions league final gloss over the fact that we had been woeful under poch for a long time. We got to the champions league final through luck rather than playing well.

I’m sorry but Davies it absolutely useless as a full back. He can’t provide width, can’t attack the byline, can’t beat a man and most importantly he can’t cross for shit
