Whatever happens on Sunday I will always love Gatland. What a job he’s done and no doubt in my mind he’s one of the best, if not the best, coach in the world. The way we’ve punched above our weight for the last decade is incredible from taking over in 2008 after our lowest point after being dumped out of the group stage by Fiji in the 2007 WC to winning the grand slam in 2008 and in the process getting our first win at Twickenham in 20 years with an amazing come back, to 2 WC semi finals and another 2 grand slams and another 6N championship.
He throws the odd grenade here and there but as Erasmus said in his press conference yesterday he’s a class act who always acts with dignity and respect (most of the time).
I think we’re going to really notice how important he is to us after this WC and I could see us falling away for a couple of years but he’s given Welsh fans so many happy memories. Hopefully there’s one more this Sunday.
He’s a results man for sure and I admire him. Done a great job with Wales.
He’s Mourinho like in his approach. Not in terms of personality and all that jazz but he’s pragmatic, it has to be said. Saffas represent your best chance of getting through based on who is left in the final four. Although they start as favourites and you’re missing a few and dare I say it, look very average in certain positions and on the bench, I could see you ‘sneaking’ another win. Got that knack of winning tight games, that’s a fantastic trait to have.
All Blacks will run riot in the final though if you do get through. I’m talking 40/50 points
