Ah, the last bastion of in depth analysis.Jogging around, ineffective closing down, and tackling is the basis for disagreement

Ah, the last bastion of in depth analysis.
If it's ineffective it's pointless, again watch MOTD post match analysis for some examples.
You are right, of course, Herc. I don’t have your football background, but after a long career in management I can recognise body language and motivation. For over a season now his head hasn’t been with us. Even if he does sign a deal he will be looking to move on, or regretting that he didn’t get the chance. As much as we will miss losing our best player it seems inevitable in the short or medium term. Dragging this on by not signing the contract is the worse of all worlds and I can see the attraction in moving him on.You know nothing of my background at all! I have been involved in football for many, many years, and not just as a supporter. You don’t know my CV. I find you comments very subjective and baseless. You are welcomed to disagree with me. But your closing comments? Lol. In my history on this forum you will find I am not an impulsive reactionary individual. Onwards and upwards.
Can I introduce you to the concept of positioning and the closing down/shutting off of passing channels ? It's probably something that Poch implements and sees that his most used player is a great proponent of it.Jogging around, ineffective closing down, and tackling is the basis for disagreement

Btw, what does your background matter in this case when you're offering an opinion which is clearly based on incorrect understanding and is knee jerk/reactionary ? Your background is meaningless in this debate unless of course you're trying to say your view is more worthwhile than a mere footballing serf .
Haha. Ok fella.I watch every game, the full 90+ minutes. That's my analysis fella.

I hope so.People will justify their opinions if you decide to call them baseless
Haha what??? There's been two games this season, one against Villa where he completely changed the game in our favour, and one against the best team in Europe where the whole team was shit. You're acting like we're halfway through this season and he's played crap every game.I didn’t say that. I know it is a joke. He has been PISS POOR! Sorry for shouting. Guy winds me up.

You're welcome. Hopefully you can consider it in your analysis of the entire 90 mins of each match you watch. Thanks for enlightening me!!!
I have held my view for a long while. And the very reason I keep off certain debates, as I know they are very opinionated (mine included). I have not been a fan of his for circa 18 months. I believe he is capable of much better. I don’t like knocking our players. I call it as I see it. Yesterday he was very poor indeed. I have stated my opinions extensively in the past 24 hours.Haha what??? Clearly, he's not an elite-level playmaker like a De Bruyne, a Hazard, an Inestia etc, but I don't think that should be a stick to beat him with. The question I'd ask is: with the kind of resources THFC has, how easy would we find it to bring in player(s) who are noticeably better than Eriksen playing a comparable role in the side? Very blooming hard, is the answer that I would give to that question.
Therefore, despite not being the kind of superman that every team in the world wishes they had in their line-up, my take is that Eriksen is just about as good a player as we could realistically hope to get in our creative midfield slots, and I'd struggle to name anyone that we could sign who would be an unarguable step up from him. So while he's not perfect I am really glad that he's still with us for now and I think we will feel his loss when/if he goes.
Yes but you haven't offered anything to back up your view and are giving it in a way that comes across as if you're some sort of authority on it. In my opinion, your opinion is quite frankly embarrassing. Since poch took over he's been arguably our most important player bar the last few months where he's been inconsistent at worse and match winning (enabling us to qualify for the CL when we probably didn't deserve to) at best. The only team he'd struggle to get into is the billion pound, double league champions, Man City. The constant slating of him, in spite of his stats is absurd.I have held my view for a long while. THIS
Covering space isn´t pointless.
Eriksen clearly isn´t up to par. Which I have also criticised him for. His game against Inter in the pre-season was embarrassing. I´m not defending his performance against City, but if a player can´t have a poor game before hounded out of the club we got an issue.
He did fine against Villa.
