I guess it depends what side of the fence you’re on with how you interpret JJ’s post.JJ saying its still not certain that he stays. we all kinda knew that i guess but still sucks hearing it from him.
But what is too much money to lose? The value of CE staying with us this season could potentially be worth more than any paltry sum we might get now. I don't see the point in selling him for say £50m. I personally don't think we should consider any offer of less than £70m.Trix posted yesterday that if he doesn’t sign a new contract, he’ll be sold- too much money to lose.
I pray he signs a new contract; playing in a team with Ndombele and GLC will give him more freedom as teams can’t just target him to be heavily marked with other creatives around. This could potentially be his best season for us.
I try to rationalise it in my head- Eriksen staying. He signs, has a cracking season and Levy agrees to let him go in a year or two content in the knowledge a suitor would have to pay good money to get him out of his long term contract.
Then, I reflect that that scenario only benefits us- he could see out his contract and get recruited by Madrid next summer for nothing comparatively speaking.
The only way he feasibly stays is he has a change of heart because he’s intrigued and excited by our potential. But I just don’t see that happening. Everything points to him wanting to leave.
A real shame

The point i'm making is we can't just give him away. He's still got a year left and he's far more than worthless to us. Any team interested would have to submit an offer that would mean there is too much money to lose that could be spent in January say.
I obviously don't know what Poch wants. But not much else needs to be done next summer in other areas. If we needed an overhaul i'd lean towards us taking whatever we can get but we've already done most of the hard part. It’s a dilemma for sure. Sell him for 50 million ish in the next couple of weeks and take our chances on a top four finish and a strong run in the CL without him but with money to reinvest, or keep him for the year, and let him walk for free in the summer but know that with him in the squad we strengthen our chances of a top four finish and a strong run in the CL. But we’d be down on a wedge of cash to reinvest.
I suspect Levy looks at the squad and Poch and his team and figures we’re good enough to achieve those objectives without him and would prefer to sell to reinvest.
I’d love for him to sign but I feel if this doesn’t happen in the next week or so, he’s gone now or next season
The Dybala interest is telling. I suspect if we’d landed him, Eriksen would have definitely been off this window.I obviously don't know what Poch wants. Right back would be one in one out, 2 centre backs could leave but we'd probably only need one in to replace. In other positions I think we're set.
It should be 3 in and 3/4 out. Wouldn't have thought it would cost us more than £100m with outgoings.
We need to keep Jan around because it would be a blow to lose him and Toby in one summer. Offer him a 2 year extension if that's what he wants, he's never been the fastest player anyway. We then wouldn't need anybody in to replace Alderweireld. The Dybala interest is telling. I suspect if we’d landed him, Eriksen would have definitely been off this window.
The Jan being dropped is also significant. We know Toby is off, Eriksen likely. I really don’t want to lose Vertonghen- that’s too much rebuilding and I don’t think the quality is out there
Although I’m as happy as I am surprised that Levy had a good window, if he sells Eriksen before the Euro windows shut he does exactly what he did last season, which is leave us short of the tools to consolidate third and in a dogfight for fourth
I don’t think Dybala is the ideal replacement either, we need someone who plays slightly deeper to conduct the play with some degree of threat
