Anyone got a deep sexy Italian accent who could pretend to be Juventus chairman to sanction the deal. Don't worry about the after effects you will probably die a hero.

Not getting Dybala would be a massive shame as I believe we are a player like this away from being seriously considered as title winners. I think our current business puts us in the mix but maybe not quite winners just yet.

However, there should be no reason why we can't explore a Dybala signing in the next coming windows as we are essentially this and a RB away from having a well-rounded squad that can keep up with City

Have to say, it was fun while it lasted. This thread featured some truly bizarre, funny and insightful posts throughout. Bummer we couldn’t pull it off in the end, but that’s just how the cookie crumbled.

Pull yourself together people. You think you’ve got it bad, I’ve got to go home to my 2 year old and explain to her that the deal for LaLa fell through. She’s got great big eyes like she was drawn by Disney, this is not going to go well.
Surely LoLo will stem the tears?

It has gone pretty quiet since the Gards tweet, so feels like this is well and truly dead now. Bit of a shame, not because I expected him at any point, but mostly because it's not often that we are genuinely linked to a player of this calibre, where it seems clear that he would come to us should realistic financial details be worked out. Then again, since the UCL final, maybe this is a new era of being able to attract top players!

So it’s image rights that have scuppered this or is it Juventus can’t get a replacement?

If it’s image rights that is ridiculous and gutting.

I'm hoping the loan deal is what's currently being thrashed out as I don't think that has definitively been quashed *cue optimistic ratings*. I know Gards' emoji doesn't make good (emoji) reading but I still think there's a few more twists in the road yet, be it a very short road that completely disappears.

Still not clear why Juve pulled the plug on this so late in the game... Bizarre.

Don’t think they did. Seems it was all to do with the image rights and all the parties not being able to get it sorted out. Well, we will have a few month until January now to sort it out.

I know it was always unlikely, but I can't help but feel disappointed. Just one of those 'what could have been' situations

From what I understand, the image rights thing could be worked out after the transfer is complete. I imagine what's holding the transfer up was that we were trying to get Juventus to agree to pay some of that.

Juventus were never after a replacement. According to this article (https://www.calcioefinanza.it/2019/08/06/quanto-puo-spendere-ancora-la-juve-sul-mercato/), they needed to sell somebody in order to become economically viable this season. So they probably wouldn't go after someone. Then, yes, it's the image rights.
