When I was younger the customary way of going about transfers was to agree a deal with the club and then with the player. If I'm not misremembering, it was considered bad practice to deal with the player before dealing with the club.

Am I mistaken or has the culture changed since then?

Yeah you’re correct it always used to be that way, but things seem to have changed the last 5-10 years.

Does anyone actually know how image rights work? Like, why is it an issue that has to be solved before we can sign him rather than one that could be solved after we've signed him?

Admittedly it is marginally easier to spell than Llorente, but I don't know why the big man would adopt such a famous Argentinian name like that so late in his career...

So Betis look like accepting £50mio now for GLC and we can get Coutinho loaned for €11mio.

Do we think that makes Dybala too hard, even if we see Eriksen for £50mio?

If it's a swap (of assets or in footballing terms) then no, not really.

We really would be stacked though. Two of those would be enough.

Post 1004 in the daily thread has some info about Premier League regulations around image rights - reads like it could be a moot point

Didn’t Sky Italia say we agreed a fee but now that tweet says he won’t join us?

Something weird going on there.

One is SKYsports Italy and the other is FootballItalia

Both have a variation of Italy in the there so I guess it bamboozled your simpleton mind

No all three are definitely doable dependent on if they accept our payment structure; but we'd probably have to get rid of one more AM on top of Eriksen should we wish to have Coutinho perm. I also wouldn't expect any major squad building other than at FB next season if all comes off.
