Yeah absolutely, that's my opinion also and works within the reports we've received but I'm not a fan of when the ITKS say no and then a week later we're all shouting but that was before, especially when JJ is involved. Just my way of keeping my feet on the ground I guess.

I presume that the Dybala/Lukaku swap is looking likely and United will be doing the rest of their dollars on a CB. If so maybe Lisbon are willing to sell to us for a slightly decreased price. If Lo Celso comes in also and Eriksen goes then I could live with that.

Story I just read said that the idea that United is so interested may not be true. The theory was that if they wanted him that bad at that price they would have acquired him already, and that as long as Pogba and Fred were there then he is excess to needs.

If this really is a thing you can only assume that not only has Eriksen turned down the contract but we also have a buyer in mind for him. Considering there's hardly been a sniff of interest in the press over the past couple of weeks I wonder who it would be.

Fernandes has won the Portuguese league player of the season the last two years, which is pretty impressive. Some notable previous winners include Quaresma, Bruno Alves, Matic, David Luiz, Hulk, Simao, and Lisandro Lopez.

He also seems to be improving. Last year was somewhat of a landmark season with him scoring 31 goals - the highest-scoring Portuguese midfielder in a single season of all time.
Obviously there's no guarantee he'll be a hit but I'll be cautiously optimistic if we get him.
