Then why does it matter whether it's announced on or after July 1 or not? We've had suggestions over and over and over again -- first from quotes of Lyon supporters in the Ndombele thread and just now from Herc -- that it does matter to Aulas. Presumably they know more about how Lyon and Aulas functions than you or any of the rest of us on SC do. All I'm saying is that close of business on the last business day of the fiscal year is functionally identical to open of business on the first day of the fiscal year. Anything that transpired in the interim would be reflected on the next year's books.
It could conceivably make a big difference under French tax laws.

I had my first child last week, a boy.

Nothing compares to the feeling you are about to have, holding your baby for the first time.

Enjoy it mate, good luck to you.

Congrats mate but have to disagree.

1. Tromboning
2. Last minute winner against arsenal.
3. Having a shit you’ve held in for 7 hours.
4. Strong vagina clenching on to your penis to the extent where you have to actually put effort into pulling it out.
5. Being a new dad.
6. Finding a fiver in your old jeans.
7. Ejaculating over a metre in length unexpectedly.
8. No-wipe shit.

(4&5 kind of go hand in hand)

I'm not sure how banking and stock exchanges function in Europe, but would it not be the case that an announcement after the close of business today would effectively be the same as waiting until July? Assuming the deal were done after the close of business, presumably the payment would not be processed until Monday and there would be no trading of Lyon's stock (which is publicly listed) until then either.

That would mean that the effect of Ndombele's sale would be realized on Lyon's accounts and stock price in fiscal year 2020, which I'm sure is what Aulas is looking for.
the despair is great with this one

Wish I hadn't googled that with my boss stood behind me.

I cannot for the life of me understand why I'm being pilloried.

It has been suggested over and over and over again that July 1 is of significance to Aulas. That's Monday. After close of business today, any announcement of business activity would not have a realized effect on Lyon's books or the price of its stock until bank transactions and stock trading resume again on Monday. The distinction I'm trying to highlight here is between a realized effect and a pending effect, which nobody seems to be addressing.

The ITK we've had today is an unexpected delay of (at least) a few hours from igijedi, and Herc stating that he thinks it could have something to do with Aulas' concern over the fiscal year. The distinction I'm trying to get at could potentially square that circle. I'm not suggesting that it's absolutely going to happen, merely thinking aloud as to something which could explain those two posts from ITKs. I don't really think that deserves the condescension and ridicule I've received. Fuck off.

No way that announcement igi was talking about was for ndombele though!
I didn't think so either until Herc posted his opinion that he thought it could have to do with Aulas wanting to wait until July 1. It sounds like we have Ndombele at the ready for a medical, which could at least potentially lead to an announcement immediately thereafter. I was just thinking about one possible consideration which might explain a few hour long delay, but more likely it's just Levy and Aulas hammering out final details.

1. Tromboning
The timing of your post is quite scary. The very minute you posted this, I was in discussion with a few colleagues about how some kid's been suspended by his school for stating there are only two genders.

I said that I identified as a tambourine but didn't want to marginalise other instruments, especially as I'm such a fan of tromboning.

No idea when I last read or heard that phrase but it must be bordering on a decade. Baader–Meinhof in full effect.

Yes it would. Any contract materially completed before midnight on Sunday would have to be reflected in the 2018/19 accounts (which we assume already show a good profit). Any contract completed after midnight on Sunday goes into the 2019/20 accounts. If Aulas wants this booked in 2019/20, there has to be some meaningful 'uncertainty' remaining until Monday.
