I'd be shocked if Eriksen went to United. They may be a bigger club, but they aren't a better club and I can't see him leaving for a club that looks less likely to win things than us.

Yeah, can't see him leaving for Europa League football either, especially after experiencing the final of the CL this year.

The big worry is that Eriksen is second choice for Real behind Pogba, and will probably wait late to try and get him if Pogba fails. We cannot be waiting for this, we have to do our business now. Makes it clearer to me that Lo Celso is his replacement, and we need to sign him up already. We also can't wait for funds from selling player to get the likes of Ndombele. We did that last season and couldn't sell anyone.

I doubt we will sign lo celso until we have the money virtually in the bank for Eriksen or a deal agreed. It’s not how ENIC work.

Think it's the other way round. We'll sign him first and then extract every last penny for Eriksen.

We get a big wad of cash for him first and Lo celso's price probably goes up.

We’ve only done that once with Bale though. Nearly every other time we’ve sold first, bought later. Eg walker and Aurier

I don’t know where this idea that the owners will suddenly speculate to accumulate in the transfer market. It’s pure fantasy. They’ve never done that once (except the bale summer when we knew we had the money coming in) in their history of owning the club.

There are multiple reasons why this summer could be seen different on that front. Stadium now finished, record TV income, no transfer expenditure last summer, huge future revenue streams to offset against... Not least the record CL prize money that we've just received to the tune of around £100m that wouldn't have been budgeted for.

Our financial position has changed almost as drastically as the Tottenham skyline in the last 2 years.

It's not speculating to accumulate. We'll buy the guy regardless of whether Eriksen goes.

One deal is not dependent on the other. Levy will want to to get the very best out of both deals, but we'll see I guess.

Let’s wait and see. I hope I’m wrong but I don’t think they will alter their MO even with the change in conditions from 12 months ago.

We need a 'pessimistic' rating tab. I'd suggest the prow of a sinking ship.

Me neither. He'll have looked at the Sanchez move as an example.

It seems quite clear he wants Spain. Higher chance of league titles, good chance of CL. he won't want a club who need loads of work and are competing with 4 others for honours otherwise he'd stay at spurs (unless city come in)

Melchor Ruiz, a journalist for COPE who is identified on Reddit as a Tier 1 (i.e. most reliable) source for Real Madrid, is saying that Eriksen is the first alternative if Madrid can't get their preferred signing of Pogba. That's consistent with reports that have been circulating for some time now, so it seems that the Pogba deal (or lack thereof) will determine what happens with Eriksen.

I have no problems with him wanting a new challenge at this point (as long as it isn't in England). If he stays great! If he goes then I wish him all the best.
