Hello darkness my old friend

JJ:

There also may be players leaving who I won’t disclose who are not previously mentioned in the press etc that you don’t expect either .....
Possibly think Lucas may go, hope he doesn’t but JJ recently said that he prefers Lamela over him

I don't think it would be Dele, Son or Kane because we would've at least heard murmurs by now. Dier would've been my guess but he's been mentioned by media, so of those left I could only imagine Vertonghen or Lucas maybe, with the latter looking for game time?

Not quite. We're now in the new Stadium and this time last season we hadn't just played the biggest Club game in football.

When have we ever heard JJ this positive either.

I think we're in an even healthier position, in every respect, than we were this time last season.

To be fair, I make you right about that (y). I’ve just been burnt too many times before.

I wouldn't expect, nor want, Rose to leave but it's out in the open that he spoke to another club last summer so surely a possibility.

How was it Poch described it..."a painful rebuild in the summer"

I’d be surprised if JJ is talking about Moura. We have 3 goal scorers in Kane, Son and Moura. I’d doubt we would be getting rid of any of those 3.

I think the main surprise would be Dier. Big part of the 5 year project but not kicked on since 2016/17. Would be the right time to sell him for a premium. Possibly Alli too given his form over the past 18 months. The only others that would spring to mind would be Lloris and Davies. We know Lloris and Poch are close so that would surprise me anyway.

Tbh I think all those players are preferred to stay as we have other aspects of the squad that need to be turned around.

On the leaving front the way Son, Kane, Winks, Dele and Lloris spoke I can't see it being any of them. You'd hope it wouldn't be Vertonghen as our only real left sided CB.

They are the ones not linked away I'd be gutted to lose along with Sanchez and Rose.

Dier, Rose, Lamela, Davies Sissoko or Lucas have not really been linked anywhere in the media and all would be sad to see go as they've contributed well in either this season or throughout the Poch era.

That said overall things are sounding incredibly positive for the summer ahead!

That really wouldn’t surprise me. I’ve got a few thoughts on that.

JJ has said for the last 18 months that this summer was when we planned to go for it. So let’s hope it happens.

No way should we consider selling Dele....

Didn't Lloris say, within the last year or so, that he didn't see himself finishing his career at Spurs?
