He's quality, but my only concern with him is that he essentially seems to have given up is LB/LWB role, hasn't he? That's the only place for him in our team, imo.

Poch, the fullback whisperer, would sort him out.

Have loved Eriksen here, and his goal against Brighton is looking monstrous now but I've a always thought he's been 5-10% off it for the last couple of months.

The thing is though, he' still been one of our best performers but you could just tell he hadn't been at his best for those consistent periods, just a little off it.

Not surprised if he knew he'd be leaving. Wonderful player for us overall though.

Plenty of factors have contributed to our slump but this has been one of them imo.

Do you think it just slightly has something to do with how we as a team has performed in general, more than Eriksen's head is turned because of what the media says?

He works his socks off every game, and is never injuried, and is overplayed because our squad is too thin.

Eriksen's stats is still on par, slight below previous seasons for us, while Alli etc is not even close?

Sorry if posted before, but Real Madrid - according to Marca - are denying any interest in Rabiot. I presume Zidane have a very good and detailed knowledge about French players and may wanna steer clear of a (possible) trouble maker in the dressing room.

https://www.marca.com/en/football/real-madrid/2019/04/04/5ca5c9b3268e3eb0548b4630.html

I am in 2 minds regarding Rabiot: player wise he's exactly what Spurs would need in MF, particularly if Eriksen leaves....but I doubt that Pochettino want - what seem like -a difficult personality like Rabiot and what that may causes in the dressing room...

I'm of the thinking he'll end up at Liverpool. If I'm not mistaken I think Rabiot was quoted as saying he'd like to work under Klopp and supported Liverpool as a child.

That said, there are also comments along the lines of him liking to experience England, but with no particular club in mind.

On a personal opinion. Tidy player, but bit of a knob. Don't want.

I think there's a few things going on with Eriksen this year. Firstly I think mentally he's been a bit affected by the uncertainty over his future, but more importantly the amount of games he's played the last few years has finally caught up with, plus the WC last summer, he's just got jaded both physically and mentally.

It could be that a could break this summer would refresh him and he'd come back strong, or maybe he's played that much football that we've run him into the ground his powers might be on the wane a bit.

Who the hell know? As great as he's been, I'd be OK with selling him this summer to help refresh the whole squad.

To summarise this season:-

Sissoko has been arguably our player of the season
We have signed nobody in 2 transfer windows
We have had injuries galore, including our best player
International tournaments have disrupted our entire season
We were rock bottom of our champs league group after 3 games, without a win
We have lost over a 3rd of our league matches
Massive uncertainty surrounding our new stadium and being forced to play the majority of our home games at Wembley
Huge speculation around our manager going to Man Utd or Real Madrid

How the hell are we top 4 and champions league semi finalists?
Because this squad is a lot better than people are giving it credit for.

IMO Eriksen's form has taken a big dip since we sold Dembele. he always fed the ball to Eriksen in a way that he could use it. As a result of Eriksen's dip, the whole team has been out of sorts. Lack of stability in CM has caused us huge problems.

If he is the club can just sell him and make a profit. It's a no brainer

It's not as easy as that. First of all, Rabiot would demand a hefty signing on fee (= not free) and a huge salary... and if he starts making trouble in the dressing room it will disturb the club's on-field performances for sure. And it will not be easy to sell him as clubs would hesitate paying not just the transfer fee but also his salary (unless he'll accept a meager salary at Real M.).
So, no, it's not a no brainer. Otherwise they would have signed him already.

Obviously it is extremely hard to predict out- and in goings this summer. But I think we would be alright with:

In:
Donny van de Beek
Nabil Fekir
Ryan Sessegnon
Thomas Meunier
Jack Grealish
Sander Berge

Out:
Vorm
Janssen
Wanyama
Lamela
Trippier
GKN
Llorente

6 in, 7 out.

Toby's future is unknown and of course we all would love him to stay. If he's set to leave then we need to replace him with someone with experience and not an upcoming talent like Davinson or Foyth.

Our wing back situation will take some time to rebuild and I reckon it will not be an overhaul all at once but more like bit for bit. I also believe that Rose will be a lot better next season with a good rest and a proper preseason but time will tell...

This leaves us with a squad of:

GK: Lloris, Gazzaniga, youngster
RB: Meunier, Aurier, KWP
CB: Toby (?), Vertonghen, Davinson, Foyth
LB: Rose, Davies
CM: Winks, Sissoko, Berge, van de Beek, Dier
CAM: Eriksen, Grealish
RW: Lucas, Fekir
LW: Sessegnon, Dele
FW: Kane, Son

24 players registered with the youngster back up keeper that does not need registration, 7 home grown players.

Thoughts on this? I'd take it but this could also be very optimistic by me. Exciting times ahead nonetheless.

He doesn't have anywhere near the reputation Aurier came with and he's been quiet as a mouse. I just think PSG are rammed with prima donnas and they collectively piss each other off.

Regarding the last point: I remember I used to get emails from Nigerian witch doctors (just the fact that they found my email in itself must count as a miracle) who could not just increase the length but also increase the libido power, so I can see if I can find those emails address and forward them to you ...and instead ask god for something else ...

While there are obvious sentimental attractions in a return for Bale, I would be concerned about getting in a player for whom pace is so important but who is now at an age where pace naturally declines. If there is going to be a clear out at Real, I would rather have Isco

Linford Christie was 32 when he won the Olympic 100m gold medal and won the World Championship gold the following year. If he stays injury-free, Bale has another 3-4 years at the top level.

I believe that Levy would love a marquee signing and Bale fits the bill. I'd love to see him back at Spurs but, on reflection, I'd probably prefer Zaha.

Christie was doping like most of the other successful runners at the time, so...

Bale isn't gonna necessarily lose his pace, but the constant muscle injuries might mean he gets the "Michael Owens" where he starts to fear stretching his legs at full tilt for fear of pinging them again.
