Poch says we need to 'change the perception' of Tottenham and I think he's talking about players considering us a big team to play for. The only thing that's going to change that is if DL starts chucking money at players like Juve do.

£60m appears to be as high as we will go (De Jong bid).

Based on Matt Law's article as something to start with....

RB/RWB - Youcef Atal
LB/LWB - Ryan Sessegnon
CM - Andre Gomes
CAM - Jack Grealish

If we added Tielemans to that in CM to go along with Winks and Sissoko then all of a sudden our CM crop is very good.

CDM would still be weak for me, with Dier, Wanyama (depending on his injuries) and Skipp. Personally would like to see Dier switch back to CB and Foyth push forward to being a CDM. Foyth is an absolute baller. He'd be wonderful in midfield IMO.

If we sell Eriksen then I'd like us to go all out for Ziyech.

Overall that would be a superb window IMO.

What’s wrong with getting both + Tielemans then shipping out Victor/Lamela? We’re already short in MF and losing Coco really isn’t a biggie seeing he’s the reincarnation of Anderton the last few years

The problem is that not many clubs are willing to take the players that we want gone, at Levy’s prices.

If Eriksen goes for 120m we should invest and put big bids in for Maddison and Brooks. I think we can unsettle them if they want to play CL. Both fantastic players!

What we need is two new fullbacks, two new midfilders and one attacking player that can replace Lamela.

If Eriksen and Toby go we need another two players. That makes it 7. Not a chance. 3 or 4 at best. And it probably depends on how quick can we sell our dead wood.

I can't realy wait for summer windows as I know how much we need investment but on the other hand I don't wanna see how we fail to do it once again.

Weren't we linked to Nicolo Barella some time back? That kid would be on my list of potential transfers. A real talent in the same vein as Jorginho.

So a shit Harry Winks then? :cautious: I'm only kidding but I think it was Chelsea linked to Barella.

Wanyama looks finished to me, I'm slow to write players off after Sissoko's turn around but it's hard to see him reaching his previous best.

We need a proper destroyer I think, Dier isn't the one either.

We are in need of senior player(s) with CB as dominant position, even with Alderweireld staying.

Really? We have 2 senior players in Alder/Vert and then 2 youthful CBs in Sanchez and Foyth and then we have Dier who can play as CB. It's our most stacked position in my opinion. We have glaring holes everywhere else other than Keeper.

Easily on par with Winks - and that is quite OK i'd say. If we have 2 Winks, hopefully 1 of them would be available throughout an entire season. Good enough for me.

If it did happen, I Like to see us be brave and put 75 - 90 odd million of that on Leroy Sane. I can't see him getting in the team ahead of Sterling any time soon. The kid is on another level and he wants first team football. Also frees up Alli to play behind the striker instead of being moved across the front 4. Spend the rest of that on Grealish for rotation with Alli.

Optimistic i know. But still!

I feel like some of the wishlists don't really take into account the need to keep our homegrown quota healthy. Depends who we see leave I suppose, but I think we'll have to fill a few of our squad holes with HG players.

I doubt Maddison will leave this summer, or Grealish if Villa come up. I'd be looking at bringing HG players in for spots where we have an established first teamer - so LB, probably RB regardless, and AM. The likes of Sessegnon, Aarons, Brooks I guess. Obviously the much talked about 3rd GK spot should be English FA trained as well.

If we have to replace Eriksen and Alderweireld we don't want to be limited in finding the right players.

Turning our nose up at Tielemans in January because "we don't do loans" has to be one of the most stupid decisions I've ever heard of when you take into account the absolutely disgraceful state of our central midfield options. How much of a difference would he have made in all the league matches where we dropped points with Winks out of the team, or on Tuesday?

The only way this disaster is mitigated at all is if Poch was completely convinced we'd land Rabiot and then the passing of his father days before the close of the window prevented him from making the leap. Given that we aren't even really linked with Rabiot now I highly doubt that was the case.

We have to have the most inept recruitment setup in all of world football, and there's no fucking indication whatsoever that anything has changed. It's genuinely nauseating.

Several CB shortcomings when it comes to senior CB specialists. I'd expect there to be movements.

I expect a replacement if Alder comes in Andersen who's main attributes seem the same as alders but other than that I disagree with you.

I am not too sure we would need an experienced CB. Its for me definitley not the main target.
We have Sanchez who needs to step up now and there is Foyth who is ready to be the 3rd CB. Adding to that we have an experienced Dier so I could really live with a promising prospect and save the money for a proven CM and AM.

The reality is that after 2 windows of no signings we're not suddenly going to be able to splash huge money. We have the stadium now and the revenue from it will be huge but it's going to take probably a couple of years before we can start to get closer to the other top 6 clubs in terms of spending and in fairness we may never be on a par with some of them.

This summer will be about adding good depth at slightly higher prices than we've spent before. Gomes is a good example of that. He's a very good footballer that has proven his worth in the prem this season. He's a bit of a bargain at the quoted price IMO.

Fans might not want to hear it and might want us to splash 70m on Zaha or N'Dombele and whilst I think we could do it, I don't think we'd be able to add many more after that so we likely won't be ready yet to make those kinds of signings.
Not having a go at you as I get this fits with a narrative that the club have been quite happy to cultivate through the media but it is utter nonsense. Perhaps you missed the small fact that we have the highest profits in world football and this was before the new stadium. We can compete with the likes of Liverpool whether we choose to is a matter of risk appetite on the part of our owners. In that regard sadly I think your conclusions about our likely transfer activity are spot on but we can be consoled by beating our record and setting an even higher profits record.
