Yeah 9 players coming in during one window sounds realistic...

We've signed 7 before (I know, that one worked out brilliantly), but if we were to lose Eriksen and Toby, as well as losing Dembele in January, we already need to sign three players to replace them. And that's not to mention sorting out our full-back and midfield issues. We need to make up for lost time over the past 2/3 windows, when our rivals have bolstered their squads (particularly Liverpool).

I'm not expecting us to sign 11 (three of which would be on bosmans), but I do believe we require serious work in certain areas of the pitch (full-back and midfield IMO).

I’d also argue that baring Davies and Dier, all the other outgoings I suggested are ones we expect to varying degrees. So that’s 11 out.

Perhaps it is too much change, but inactivity in previous windows plus the potential departures of two of our top players (as well as Dembele in January), does mean that substantial changes will happen this summer - for better or worse.

Over the past two seasons, we’ve spent $138m, Liverpool $320m, Man City $459m, Man Utd $320m, Arsenal $210m, and Chelsea $470m.

(According to transfermarkt.com)

Like I said, we need serious catching up.

You want to keep Trippier?? I'd have Aurier over him every day of the week

I'd keep a few others, even if only as versatile squad players (assuming they're OK with that)
- Lucas
- Rose
- Davies (he can also cover CB)
- Dier
- Winks
- KWP

Agreed. There is obvious deadwood which will be off loaded but outside of that the main core players will remain. Except the likes of Eriksen and Alderweireld who may choose to move on.

We all know the squad needs an overhaul however we have to accept that the full overhaul will not happen in one window. IF we buy players ever again then this process will take at least 2-3 windows. This is because we are Spurs and not a Man City where money is no object.

Can we really see up to 8 top class players coming in during one window especially when we sit around monitoring players until last day of the window? ?

It's a process that again will be a long drawn out one trying to overhaul the club so best get ready to wait around for years and year's.

And while Winks is out almost more than he plays nowadays, Dembele was sold and both Dier and Wanyama often on the injury list we didn’t strengthen at all and while most of us can see that Tielemans is a good player we hear that Poch doesn’t rate him for reasons only he knows. I can only imagine it’s because he either thinks his mentality isn’t right or he’s not physical enough.
Both Milner and Wijnaldum are great passers and all three work incredibly hard off the ball, making runs forward that make opposition defenses concede quite a few goals from Liverpools midfield. We don’t have that.

until last Season Wanyama wasn't an injury problem, but the injury he suffered means there was a problem selling him. the only way the club last summer could replace him would of meant paying him, getting him to have a major operation and not include him in any squads. we would really be in the same spot with Winks too, but his latest injury has nothing to do with the injury that started to give him problems in the 1st place. some players just seem to be unlucky with injuries.

Dier has only had an injury recently, he suffered with appendicitis and tonsillitis they are not injuries, but illnesses you couldn't play high intensity or at all because your likely to cause a serious problem. before that in his Spurs career he hasn't been out much or for too long

No Lamela for that game? There's a shock. His impact on us not being able to have another suitable attacker in the squad cannot be understated. He's a cult hero but probably our worst signing in terms of impact in recent years when you factor hype/price and the fact he's essentially the footballing equivalent of a bed blocker

Whilst I agree the injury record is a fucking joke, this is a proper random outburst at him based on a subs bench a few years ago. We know he was injured that season.

Been linked with Arseanal a fair bit over the last few weeks. Talk that Emery OK'd a potential £60m move, but Barca president has no plans to sell because he signed a new contract before the World Cup.

If they keep Umtiti & bring in De Ligt that might be the best 4some of CBs of all time, holy shit what a group.

Barcelona are doing a fantastic job in the transfer market lately and setting themselves up nicely for life after Messi.

Like this a lot but we need a stronger CM than Berge I think... also Eriksen and Toby very likely to leave
