thats the whole team, though. we are so slow in transition that by the time Eriksen gets the ball the opposition has 7 or 8 men back.

But that's not the issue? I think most of us are intelligent enough to know if the problem is the opponent has 7 or 8 men behind the ball. The issue is Eriksen failing to pass the ball to his man regularly, failing to even do the simple things well. Dwelling on the ball, over hit passes. It has nothing to do with the opponents tactics, these are basic things which Eriksen is failing to do. It's not a one off, he's been like it for months now.

As I said, there is no vendetta. Eriksen has been one of my favorite players, who wouldn't think the same, but he's been awful for ages now. There is no excuse for Eriksen to be so below par in his all around game, he's literally become part of the problem when we are attacking rather than the solution. I've lost count the amount of times attacks break down because Eriksen gets dispossessed or gives the ball away.

Unfortunately, we have no alternatives, we just have to hope Eriksen plays his way out of this terrible form, but it's been going on for months.

Partly. But it's plain to see he's been below par.

And it's up to our creative and attacking players to find spaces between the lines, and pass and move intelligently.

I really can't understand how anyone can't see he's been below par for the majority games we've played for the last two/three months.

Quite, I find it baffling. I mean, it's blatantly obvious just by watching our games, that he is playing well below par. What do people see when they turn on the TV? If you follow the man in possession, you would have by and large seen Eriksen giving the ball away time and again over the past few months. How can people fail to see it? It's not like we are making it up.

I wonder if half our support are blind drunk when the football is on.

His assist stats don't tell the full picture. His overall game is way way below par.

A directed sports broadcast and not a full appreciation of the game?

Very lucky to be playing behind the best striker in the world perhaps.

Apart from the fact that Kane has scored 3 goals from Eriksen's 10 assists this season.

The problem is that people are just over exaggerating his demise just because he has his foot out the door

This is what I've been saying ^ You're basically speaking shit.

I see a man putting in similar performances to a occasionally hapless bunch around him and getting all the stick, whereas certain others are immune. Sure its just a coincidence with the whole contract thing.

Edit: See Walkers player watch thread in 2017 and Tobys thread last season.

But its because he's so integral to our playing tempo.

Honestly, any other player, even Kane, we can afford them to be under par and still be OK.

When it's Eriksen it just seems to be fatal for us.

If anything it proves how important he is.

And also shows how neglectful to the squad having so few creative players is. We’re lucky he’s been so injury free over in Poch’s time here.

He’s blatantly off form, anyone can see that. Although there is truth in needing other players to make runs and spark off, it doesn’t excuse just rank bad touch which he’s been showing for quite a while. He doesn’t look focused to me, and I don’t mean he isn’t trying, but he’s on easy street with no competition and no doubt in my mind his future with or without us is playing a part.

It's got nothing to do with it. I would be gutted if he left as he's an incredible footballer, which makes his recent performances so annoying. There is no agenda, just pointing out he's been poor.

It wasnt Arnold Palmer it was Gary Player. If you make quote get it right other wise its worthless

Don't get snooty with me pal.
This quote is variously attributed.

Quote Investigator:
Gary Player is a very fine golfer, but he is not responsible for this well-known maxim. The best evidence that he did not coin the adage is in a book written by Player himself in 1962 where he credits the aphorism to fellow golfer Jerry Barber. Before discussing that book QI will review support for Player and some other claimants to the phrase. The earliest instance of the expression found by QI that uses the word “practice” is not from a golfer. It appears in a memoir published in 1961 by a soldier of fortune during the Cuban revolution.

And it isn't worthless
because it's valid whoever said it.

Wind your neck in.

The reaction of some Spurs fans to Eriksen's supposed "poor season" is utterly pathetic.

He's a playmaker who runs as hard as anyone in the team.

If the people he "play makes" for - ie: Dele; Kane; Son - are not in the side because they are injured (while he's remained fully fit) it makes his job harder and the team suffers.

IT'S NOT HIS FAULT WE'VE HAD AN INJURY CRISIS.

Fucking Spurs fans...

Just like any other player he's down on confidence and touch but there's ZERO EVIDENCE that he's "downed tools". The slurs against him have been fucking pathetic and embarrassing.

He's totally on par with every season he's been with us. People just keep moaning because we're loosing him. The match thread is really getting embarrassing, by how much hate he's getting from our supporters. What did Kane exactly do in the Liverpool game? Fuck all. Getting bullied by Matip & VVD. Meanwhile he doesn't get a single comment in the Match thread, how funny. And he earns what, 3 x times the money Eriksen does?

What I see in the current games for us he's trying to play the killer-ball all the time, which makes him "loose" the ball and people start moaning. Do you think maybe he's
directed by Poch to try and play that killer-ball, because he's the only one in our team who can play that ball? Mayb he shouldn't try and play that ball, but who else in our team is creating anything? No one, good then. Let's play more AVB football then.

Or let's just try an sign some CM's who can acutally play a ball forwards so Eriksen can get some help, not like Winks, Sissoko or Dembele.

I see no one else mugging him like our own fans. Disgusting.

That's 46 goals, and 62 assist in 199 Premier League games by the way.

Have a word with yourself.
