This is from our Head of Business Development. Not sure I like him description of us in is sales pitch...I would have preferred owners...
“It is an NFL stadium and that’s the key message. From the very start during the design phase, we have had the NFL in mind. The anchor tenant is Tottenham Hotspur, but this is designed to be a permanent home for the NFL outside the US...
I don't have an issue with that, at the end of the day they are looking at how to maximise the stadiums return. He's selling the space to everyone outside of football - we know it's a football stadium first and foremost, it's about showing it's potential. He's business development. Hardly needs to develop business from a football team that already use it 19+ times a year.
I get that guys. But just imagine an NFL owner buys us and moves his team here. Who's be the "anchor tenants" then? Just didn't like the terminology used, regardless of it being a sales pitch or not.Someone fishing for a naming rights sponsor.
It's a sales pitch. He wants to sell it as more than a football stadium but a multi use venue that will attract the attention of different groups around the world. Pl, cl, nfl, rugby esports etc...
Clearly obvious why Tottenham Hotspur FC is not above the door then ? But in all seriousness they’ve made the stadium as generic as they could possibly get away with on the outside. Most of the lettering is very subtle and partially hidden no seat branding. The only real two stand out Spurs branding are the Cocckerel on the roof and the neon one on the west entrance. Tbh they’ve done a brilliant job, just enough to make it Spurs but not enough so someone( like an American NFL fan) wouldn’t really know it was obviously a football clubs stadium from the outside.
exactly. And that makes me nervous. That's interesting and I suspect it's technically correct. Obviously, his spin is making the stadium sound as available and bookable and desirable as he can, so he can promote it worldwide.
The way a big development like this is procured, there will be a holding company or a Special Purpose Vehicle - a company set up to own the Freehold land and be named as the landlord on the numerous leases. I would imagine that THFC, the football club, is indeed a leaseholder, with pre-emptive rights to use the stadium space at times of its choosing (West Ham have similar anchor-tenant rights) but in our case the landlord and THFC are both owned by ENIC, so there isn't much significance to it.
It's a digital screen. It could be made red with arsenal on in 1 second. It has a massive sign saying Tottenham Hotspur in the entrance to the west stand which is visible from outside.
Wouldn't/couldn't happen unless ENIC agreed. It's possible that ENIC may someday decide to sell of the Freehold (I doubt it), but if they do that, it will be subject to THFC's lease, with its anchor-tenant rights to first use of the stadium space. They can't just change the lease, they have to live with what they are buying.I get that guys. But just imagine an NFL owner buys us and moves his team here. Who's be the "anchor tenants" then? I e-mailed Donna Cullen and somebody phoned me the following day. Very pleasant lady who explained things and said she would get back and let me know if/when tickets would go on general sale. Haven't heard from her since though. Maybe they won't go on GS so we'll miss out.
Think I'll wait for next season and get mrs a hotspur membership then try to buy cat c or b. Can't imagine cat a games will go past ST and hotspur +. Maybe I'll upgrade to that level, should stand a slightly better chance.
No of course not on the arsenal thing but am on the agnostic look and changeable aspect. Whilst i understand why,for it multipurpose use, still worries what could happen when we are sold. Are you worried they will?

Natural born worrier. The thing is anything could happen. No point worrying about it.

I wouldn't worry tbh. They're about to change the name of White Hart Lane station to Tottenham Hotspur. No of course not on the arsenal thing but am on the agnostic look and changeable aspect. Whilst i understand why,for it multipurpose use, still worries what could happen when we are sold.
Football is more than anything about the fans. As long as we're still here, so is our Tottenham. If the very worst happened and one day we had to leave the buisness entity behind and start afresh as a "new" club in lower leagues, so be it. The likes of Wimbledon and Rangers had an absolute blast when they were put in that position. The club never dies unless we let it.

I for one am looking forward to welcoming forest green rovers to the NWHLFootball is more than anything about the fans. As long as we're still here, so is our Tottenham.
