Can we go back to talking about whether the first game will be televised please?
depends on whether the cashless card readers are all fitted in time

Out of interest club shops:
Arsenal 12k sq ft
Chelsea 12k
United 17 k
Liverpool 20k
Spurs 23k sq ft
And no we don’t get a trophy for that.
I thought it was just America that was so far behind the cashless payment times? I see we’re complaining about cashless in here? Either swipe/insert the chip credit card or connect your credit card to apple pay and use the fingerprint/facial id. The card issuer doesnt have your fingerprint or facial id. Apple does.

Not really complaining just lamenting the passing of an age, my age, which I must remind people was the age that brought you little plastic cards instead of cheques.I thought it was just America that was so far behind the cashless payment times? But your phone can be used to make contactless payments, pay for fuel etc. So once the device is unlocked you use the relevant service to make a transaction. This is no different. Your print only unlocks the device locally, the device then communicates to the bank to proceed with payment. Your print isn't sent anywhere, it's only used to locally unlock your device.
Sorry if it seems that way but cashless is a big part of the new stadium. I would be very surprised if a new stadium wasn't cashless in this day and age.
Really? How / why is that? And lets be honest, any government or organisation who wanted my personal details already have them and my fingerprints are being touted around the net every day.
I too apologise in advance. I was kind of mainly joking when I suggested retina recognition.I'm wary of going off topic, but just to clarify for everyone.
No bank nor company stores your biometric (i.e. fingerprint or face ID) data. The data is stored ONLY on the device itself.
Is there a possibility that companies are illegally / quietly storing this data elsewhere? Sure, but if we are going by what they say and by the book, they do NOT store our data. It's on device only.
Lastly, I'm 31, and I forgot what cash even is.
Card only and contactless is good on a personal level as I use a cashback card so I get money back on everything I buy. I don't really see the point of cash, it's detrimental for me to use it, and less safe if I were to get mugged, plus less chance of protection on purchases.
On a larger scale, cashless speeds up big queues and this has been very noticeable in Wembley at some of their card only food outlets inside the stadium. If anywhere needs cashless systems where people aren't fiddling about with change and counting out money and spending an extra 5 to 10 seconds getting cash out and putting it away, it's a big football stadium outlet.
It's happening everywhere, even car parks. Granted, different types of fraud are on the up, but at least mugging for cash will go down, (though phones are valuable these days).
Anyway. My membership pack has finally dispatched. Not long to go!
I'm not sure if they'll go that far but who knows. I think cards will slowly die out like cheques. The likes of Apple Pay and Paypal will be used to pay for anything from your phone. Alternatively you could use an accessory instead. If I could pay for travel, access the stadium and buy from the shops/bars using only my phone I'd be all for it. The fingerprint scanner adds that extra layer of security that would open the possibilites. If you are talking using your phone for transactions fine. I was talking about using your fingerprint without a phone or personal device or card.
You'd be a little buggered if your battery died though wouldn't you?I'm not sure if they'll go that far but who knows. I think cards will slowly die out like cheques. No more so if you forget your wallet. I think you'd need a backup in accessory form like the contactless keyrings/wristbands etc. Or they set the phone to store a percentage of power aside to use for emergency calls and payments. I'm just the ideas man, I'll leave it to the nerds to make it happen. You'd be a little buggered if your battery died though wouldn't you?
Surely a step too far? Readily offering up finger prints was never in the programmeMy kids school has fingerprint recognition as a method of payment. I load up their accounts and they use their thumbs to pay for goods. No need for cash.
