Putting a positive spin on the news..
Might get a group stage package ticket..
I hope the package for CL is reasonable, last season as a concession I paid £47.50 for all 3.
Be very happy if it is priced the same
Group stages was always gonna have to be all 3 at Wembley. Being such a small group of games imo the integrity is comprised if one team plays at Wembley and the other 2 at a new stadium. I think this will come into play in PL post Xmas. Especially when relegation issues become clearer. Teams will call it unfair they have to play us at new stadium as opposed to Wembley. I see January as the absolute cut off or will be 19/20.
Trust say it's not happening:
If playing the full season at Wembley is an option the club should just make the decision to delay stadium until next year. Gives time to rectify all the issues & get rid of the uncertainty. The unknown & the fact it would be a mid season opening is taking the shine off the whole prospect of a new stadium.
And we were not being before? I would have expected this to be honest.
Is that not related to the news Barcelona was at Wembley and the other two TBA?
THST can be helpful but I wouldn't put faith in their answer being the correct one.
Chelski will be our first home game in the new stadium in my opinion. What a cracking game it would be to start off with.Fully agree..... just imagine if we announce another date and then we have a set back..... however after the city game our next league home game is chelsea on 24th November
And have the stadium sitting able to be used but not using it for seven or eight months I just don't see that as a sensible option and furthermore, from a football point of view, it's better to get in as soon as possible and have our players accustomed to the new ground from the start of next season. If playing the full season at Wembley is an option the club should just make the decision to delay stadium until next year. Probably being over optimistic, but reading that statement it sounds like the stadium could very well be ready in time for the Man City match but the club have lost confidence in the time frames given by Mace and are therefore being more cautious with opening dates.
Blimey. That's devastating news
there just trying to give themselves enough breathing space so they don't suffer another knockback, look at it this way, without the test events that are still due to take place and to add getting the licence, what else could they say today, the most vital issue rt now is certainty. anything else then they could not off brought all stakeholders along with them at this junctureI think its the other way round and it will be longer.
The reason they don't want to say anything is because they want to keep stringing along the footballing authorities. We've got Wembley for league games until the new year and I reckon now thats where we will be until then.
