I argued this yesterday and most disagreed when I said Moura is not better than him.Pretty shocked that some people don't rate Zaha in all honesty. He's absolute quality and I can see why Poch would relish the opportunity to work with him.
He's Premier League proven, and with the right coaching I think he could easily be getting 15+ goals a season in a good side, if not more. Not many wide players have his physical stature (I hesitate to say it but can't think of anyone since Ronaldo).
It's not just his pace and power, but his dribbling ability. When teams park the bus against us at the moment we're predictable, which is why I think we're looking at Zaha who can trick his way past people and doesn't rely on an eye of the needle pass or space to run into.
All that said, there's no way we're paying £70m, and he's easily worth more than £70m to Palace as he practically singlehandedly kept them up last year, so I don't see it happening unless he goes on strike.
EXACTLY!It does feel like Poch has scoured the whole of world football and come up with Martial and Zaha consistently for three years now.
That's the main reason hes possibly the one to push the boat out for.
However, Zaha can do pretty much everything Moura can to great effect, except his finishing, power and striking from distance is much better.
I'm using my eyes and not stats on this one. Firstly, he was at PSG in an inferior league so was certainly finding space easier to come by thanks to the players he plays alongside and the weakness of the opposition. Secondly, watch how Moura strikes a ball, there's a lack of conviction, Zaha has much more power and conviction in his strikes.Stats don't really back that up:
I'm sure we expect same level cash for our playersHe qualifies as homegrown however if I'm not mistaken. £40-£50m tops not a penny more, especially after fluffing his lines at Man U when he got his big move. No wonder we aren't buying players, the markets gone nuts!
I just asked and she said same old same old.imagine the outrage of a wife if she got nothing from her husband who promised her a present for their anniversary...
You'll feel better now but even worse laterIm going to decide to only listen to Breezer's itk because it makes me feel better so I reckon we'll get him
"Zaha's move to Palace was made permanent with the signing of a five-and-a-half-year contract for an undisclosed fee. It also included a buy back clause, believed to be in the region of £3 million, rising to £6 million with add-ons; Manchester United will also receive a percentage of the fee if Palace sell Zaha in the future"
I think I’m with you Yanno in trying to make it happen. And while the logic of cash plus players is alluring, as you say, the complexities of getting it all over the line are huge: Unwilling players who need to be well paid, multiple agents that need to be greased, persuading Roy to re-jig his team, etc.Going by Herc's latest ITK, if Martial and Pulisic are no longer possible, I think we need to sign Zaha, a player from our A-list that Poch has clearly coveted for a long time. Most importantly of all, this protects the beating heart of our club, Poch and his project.
Whilst acknowledging cash plus player deals are difficult, I would see which of our available players Palace are interested in. Those players also need to be prepared to sign there.
But £40m in instalments, plus 2 of:
Sissoko (who spent several seasons at Newcastle)
Llorente (who was a key player at Swansea)
Janssen (who was a regular for the Dutch national team until his injuries, and still young)
Surely has a chance of doing it.

Wilfried Zaha has rocked Crystal Palace after indicating for the first time that he wants to leave Selhurst Park.
The 25-year-old has rejected the offer of a new £125,000-a-week contract and Standard Sport understands he has made it clear to the club that he wants to play Champions League football.
Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund are interested in Zaha, while Everton have also been weighing up a move for the winger this summer.
Palace are adamant they do not want to sell Zaha, but the Eagles now face a major fight to keep hold of a player they value at around £70million.
