Acftually, I think I recall somewhere that the biggest problem with modern stadia is not so much the light level, but the air circulation, right down at the grass level. It'll be much easier to force circulate air when the pitch is withdrawn than when it is out, so there might be some added benefit there, too.On the plans posted in this thread there is definitely a marked space in front of the north stand for lamp array storage which can only really be for grass maintenance, but it would be fairly easy(I actually can’t say how easy) to put lamps above the retracted pitch in the south stand. So the pitch slides away and into its envelope and inside that space the temperature can be controlled.
I have no idea about any of this. I’ve just looked at the tray construction, tracks and the rest on the webcams. There’s no way to see under the south stand to see if the trays have even been placed yet onto tracking
