Simple. Because Walker is a PL proven player and we may be ok to sell him for a price. Other targets may not be available as easily
And he's homegrown or english I believe.

But think on this, how many ex-Southampton Poch players have gone on to improve or maintain their levels elsewhere? Walker might be great at City, he might also be a Lovren or Llalanabanana
And look how long Poch stayed at Southampton after they started selling his players...
Haha, that didn't get a reply lol.Pochettino joined us on 27th May 2014
Lovren, Lambert & Lallana all joined Liverpool in June/July.
Bet A&C is broken right up about that.I can't say I have a great deal of respect for whoever issued the "watch it".
Poch wanted to leave Southampton because the DoF who brought him to the club (name escapes me) quit a few months before. He said early on that he would leave them if the DoF was to leave, and the board had to convince him to see out the season after the DoF left. It had nothing to do with selling players, as has been pointed out.And look how long Poch stayed at Southampton after they started selling his players...

Rings a bell, yes.Cortese I think it was.

The clubs with the money are circulating us like they were circulating Arsenal in recent years and with some respect to Arsenal they maintained a top 4 position during this time. They lost Clichy, Nasri, Adebayor and Sagna to City and Fabegas to Barcelona.
All the aforementioned with the exception of Fabegas went for the money, so we as a club will not be immune to City and others coming with big money offers for our players. We will need a highly effective contingency plan to cope with the inevitable

now now, no need for insults little fella. Are you trying to say Southampton aren't a selling club?
Fucking hell some of us aren't glued to the forum. You need to get a life mate.
Starting to feel a bit like we might've called Walkers bluff, I'd only worry about what signal it sends if it is to a rival.
I see you got a "watch it" for your "thick" comment. I can't say I blame you, in the face of the condescending attitude of your protagonist, with his "clutching at straws", "keep telling yourself that", and "spinning" comments, and his sarcastic "funny" marks. As I read them, I did wonder myself, as did you, about his intelligence. I can't say I have a great deal of respect for whoever issued the "watch it".
So today's newcomers are all in agreement that Kane will join Madrid next summer, Sky have briefed them well.
Don’t be silly, they can roll out the old debate of ‘is La Liga better than the Premier League?’ as all the biggest names end up there. When Kane does eventually leave, that show will just be four gimps sitting around a table with an awkward silence as they’ll have nothing left to say
