Boufal and Insigne won't, they are depth players too. Would have to take a step up to James class if we want to improve on guys like Eriksen, Alli and Lamela
I thought the point of the Champions League was so that we could attract better footballers. If we are going for an attacking midfielder then we need to show a bit of ambition and have a real go for the likes of Insigne and Boufal. We nearly won the league last year ffs, we're a decent sized club, we're a good side and money really shouldn't be that much of a problem if it's the right player.
Who can we realistically get who will undoubtedly improve our first eleven?
I am very confident, we will not end up with Louis Saha on deadline day.Do you mean 'we' offered £12M and the actual asking price was £16.5M?
If I offer you £15 for your semi-detached house, you'll be damn unreasonable by asking for the £450K it's worth using that logic.
We are a financially we'll run club, but Poch must eventually start to wonder why we can't get 'his' transfer targets over the line and end up with Louis Saha on deadline day.....
We don't need to improve our starting 11. It's as good as anyone's, bar the top 5 or so European teams (Madrid, Barca, Athletico, Bayern, Dortmund)

If we aren't going to bring in a top quality attacking midfielder then i'd rather we wait and see what Edwards can do in pre-season. Wouldn't be much point in buying unproven promise when it would likely block the development of Onomah/Pritchard/Edwards. Unless we are signing the likes of Insigne then i'd sooner we look to the youth academy if the talent is there. It is a less risky position than the likes of defence, midfield and strikers to blood youngsters. For that reason I don't think an OK squad player such as Wijnaldum for £17m plus is a worthwhile investment until we see how the kids get on in pre-season.
apparently not Southampton's though. They're in lead for Boufal
No lets be serious.

Well Poch clearly said he wants two "attacking" players. Wanyama isn't attacking, He's a DM, so Janssesn and........Very few of these qualities and we have Eriksen and Ali.....Unless we can get Isco, which would be impossible like James Rodriguez. So our option is develop our own or punt on young talent like Gabriel Jesus. Even putting money on expensive young talent is not our style.... Hence development is the only way for us if we can let players like Onomah express themselves.
I don't Poch will get a AM this season.
Think we need someone with more guile and football intelligence than those two personally.
Bizarre comment. Pretty sure we would get destroyed by Juventus and PSG, too.We don't need to improve our starting 11. It's as good as anyone's, bar the top 5 or so European teams (Madrid, Barca, Athletico, Bayern, Dortmund)
You're 'avin a giraffe aren't ya?? It wasn't as good as Leicester or Arsenal last season and after the two Mancs and Chelsea have finished buying the quality of players they're buying, we are unlikely to be as good as they are next season. There will be probably 7 teams competing for the top 4 places next season and spurs will be very hard pushed to be one of the 4 with the current squad. We don't need to improve our starting 11. But we've forked out 32m for the pair, and as we've seen window after window such investments by enic are incredibly hard to come by. So we need to at least see what they're made of this coming season. One or both may well come good, we've seen flashes already....
They are just different players to the attacking midfielders people are suggesting. N'jie and Son I feel are more goal scorers and forwards than support players and playmakers. I for one definitely have faith in them to step up but that does not necessarily mean that we don't want another signing. But we've forked out 32m for the pair, and as we've seen window after window such investments by enic are incredibly hard to come by.
