Apparently Old Ken Bates owns a penthouse on land required for chavs.
Now there is one awkward bastard, he's going to want 10 times value or he sits tight?

If it's the website i'm thinking about it's spoiled by a troll called lilbaz (at least the hammers fans think so).
Don't worry about it they are a bunch of idiots anyway. Apparently half a compression ring is impossible

I was going to post this and say well this must be some of that voodoo magic I heard about but thought I play nice

Those guys are crazy, they went through my post history to find out I was spurs fan and then went through my predictions from 2012 and said he is clearly wrong about this stuff. Which were btw that the project wouldn't be feasible for £100m and that they couldn't remove the lower tier

Then when one of them corrected him saying that the project is double the price, he said we don't know that for sureo_O

The other prediction btw was that they couldn't remove the foundations for lower tier which as of yet they havent. and have just removed one or two of the concrete tier.

I may know fuck all about football but I definitely know my sciences/engineering

Went to WHL today, and spoke in length to one of the guys working on new stadium, apparently once they had dug down about 1.8m they hit ballast. so what they are doing is washing the ballast and using it for the concrete that will be used on site. The problem is though there is so much of it that it is restricting, the movement of the vehicles on site, thus slowing the process down.
The club in the mean time has acquired a new site opposite WHL train station, one of the purposes for this is to move the ballast over there wash it and bring it back when needed. This will then free up more space on site so the work can be speeded up.
This ballast will save the club quite a tidy sum as there will be no tipping charges for the dig out and will not have to purchase any ballast.
One last point, I asked him if they had been given a timeline for completion, he said "club is hoping to have the stadium ready for use in 2019"
So that means we will be a way from WHL for 2 years!!

It's been pretty obvious all along from the rhetoric that we'll be away for 2 years.

There are quite a few objections to this and the proposal for 7 day working of the depot.
I wonder what planning councilors think of some of these NIMBYs. They basically chose to move to brand new apartments that are next to the train line and a massive civil engineering project that's been on the cards for a decade - then they moan about the noise of the train line and the building work.

They knew this sort of thing was going to happen and the project will increase the value of their flats once completed.

Cllr Bevan is objecting.

Subject: Planning Support FW: Comment Received from Public Access Application Reference No. : HGY/2015/3002 Site Address: 44 White Hart Lane London N17 8DP London Comments by: CLLR JOHN BEVAN Submission: Neither Comments: I am very concerned as to this proposal as this is a very narrow main road with many bus routes. It is also yellow lined with double and single yellow lining. It also has obscured vision due to nearby bends in this road. There is often a tail back of traffic, past the entrance to this site, from the traffic lights at the junction with Tottenham High Road. White Hart Lane and the entrance to this site seems very narrow considering the size of the vehicles that could be using this construction site. I await the input of Highways management into this consultation.

I really feel sorry for the people of Tottenham that they have these people in their council. There's a reason the area has been in decline since the Second World War and it's partly down to people like this who don't want progression and can't see the bigger picture. Can't they see that we are the catalyst to make their residents lives better.

Taken from the Planning Statement.

To facilitate the delivery and construction of the stadium-led development, the Club is seeking to accommodate a construction compound on this application site for a temporary period. The provision of a construction compound on this site will improve the efficiency of the construction phase on the main NDP site, allowing the development to proceed in a timely fashion. It will also allow for the concrete required to construct the stadium and associated structures to be prepared on the application site, which will have the benefit of significantly reducing the number of HGV movements otherwise required to transport concrete to the site from concrete production plants elsewhere in Greater London.

He's doing his job. How would you feel if a construction site opened opposite you that will be making noise 7 days a week.
They will come to some sort of arrangement. What works can happen what times or days, minimise effect on traffic etc... It has to be done to minimise disruption to peoples lives.

I agree to some extent but you surely get what I'm saying generally. Anyway those living round whl station will have more to complain about once the next phase to be delivered by the council gets planning as they will be losing their homes and it won't be the club who will then be the bad guy.

I understand what you are saying. The councilors job is to get the best deal for the public. Partly that is to get the stadium built in the first place but partly it is to minimise disruption to local residents.
Everyone will have to work together on this and compromises will be made.

Agreed, that construction noise must really distract from the usual noise of car horns, emergency vehicle sirens and the local rude boys shouting at one another. ;)

I live out in the suburbs, and on the way to work they are building a huge estate in a field next to a small row of country houses. I should imagine those residents are far more put out than residents around WHL will be.

To be fair they are all valid points that he raises, if we take off our Spurs' hats I'm sure we'd agree especially those of us who know that area.
Mind you I think he has raised the issues, perhaps because it was raised to him, without too much fighting talk so I don't think he is looking to prevent it just manage its effect on that part of White Hart Lane where it meets the high road.
