Often those chance ones are most accurate though - remembering Zokora in the bar, Huntelaar on plane re Holtby, and Ade at the barbers.

So we should just accept that it's fine to wait for that perfect signing to happen on September 1st @11:52pm, 4 games into a season....? i happen to think that something is fundamentally wrong with our transfer policy if we always end up in the same boat year after year. And my vagina is now clear of sand, i washed it this morning thank you very much :sneaky:

Every club will be chasing business up to the end of play, 4 games into the season. Thats the nature of the beast, you might as well paste your comment into every clubs forums. Blame UEFA or whoever decided that it was a good idea to have a window that overlaps the season start.

Transfer window shuts at 6pm any way.

Sat in labor and delivery waiting for the newest Spurs fan to arrive. All I want is Ade to leave before my Daughter arrives in this world.
I think that this is taking the policy of "no additions until we have sold" a little bit too fast
Good luck mate

Any truth in the alleged ITK report that it was only after Ade changed his religion that he found out that you could lose a hand for stealing. Therefore, he has decided to give back all the money he stole from us last season. Which hopefully clears the way for incomings.

If true, (and i am not defending him) then why did Levy sign him. A "reputation" good or bad follows and individual around. It's not as if Levy had landed from planet Gog as Chairman, and thought what a Linekeresque type of player we have the opportunity to sign now is it?

A contract works both ways and if the club were stupid enough not to see the player that is Ade, then the Board of Directors must take some responsibility for the decision to sign him.

Thank God we dodged a bullet with Ballotelli..............................
I understood it was to support his manager, as I recall Mr Redknap was all over it and got his way.
I also understand that Levy gets flack for not supporting his manager, can we have it both ways?
Mind you we were a bit desperate at the time if I remember remember correctly.

By the way I just checked and we are 36 days into the transfer window with 26 days left, I am therefore having trouble unserstanding where all this last minute bollox is coming from, especially with the positive ITK we are getting, Just saying...

EDIT: Gaz Gammon you have accidentally given me a spam rep, can't imagine you've done it because I called you on something.

Not true at all.Liverpool, City, Man Utd, Chelsea have all assessed & addressed their needs going into this year. Besides that, this happens to us every year mate, every single bloody transfer window.
1. Liverpool have bought players, but have they truly addressed needs? Methinks they'll still be shit.
2. Chelsea have bought basically no one other than taking an incredibly underwhelming Falcao on loan and buying a new backup keeper. They have no backup LB for Azpilicueta and no backup RB for Ivanovic. They have only 3 CBs and one is 34 year old John Terry, who had an unprecedented fully healthy season last year. Is that really addressing their needs? If they get some first teamers injured they could be right fucked.
3. City have done eff all except try and buy homegrown, is that really addressing their needs? Maybe? But they have more cash than sense anyway so it's a pretty non-analogous comparison anyway.
4. Speaking of more money than sense. United. Really? You want to compare to Manchester United? Fuck me.

Err...you can understand it from the start of the season in a few days?... Whatever the arguments either way I think most people could see the 'last minute' as the moment before we actually start playing games for points?

The teams that compete each year, do the majority of their business prior the to the week leading up to the start of the season. We continuously let our business drag & drag on until the last day of the window & it's bloody annoying. I don't buy the whole we need to sell to buy crap either, we have money ffs.

If yesterdays game wasn't proof enough that we're in DESPERATE need of support for Kane & a defensive midfielder then you're blind or dumb. And you can stick your 'be patient' or 'there's another month of the window to go yet' replies firmly up your respective jacksy's.

It's a sorry situation, that we've got 4 days left before playing Man Utd and even if we do buy another striker, they will not have had any time training or getting to know the team or how we play. (n)

I don't think it's a lot different for the "teams that compete each year", but if it is it's likely to be due to factors like them being able to throw money around to get signings early & the fact that they can guarantee CL football.

We've signed 3 players already, which suggests we're trying to do our business early & I'm sure we'd have done more if it was straightforward. But given we can't compete financially or offer CL to hasten matters along the reality is we'll have to wait in the pack until things start to unravel towards the end of the window.

Think that's a function of how the window works for a club in our position rather than a situation of our own making.

Really don't understand why everyone gets their knickers in a twist minute someone says something negative about how we're going about things. Even most optimistic of posters can surely see we have some major issues that need addressing.
It's so tedious seeing anyone who says anything negative being accused of having a nervous breakdown, all it does is makes that poster exaggerate further.
We probably will bring in the players in the positions we need, when who knows, whether they are the right players who knows.

Fact we are starting season with in my opinion huge gaps in the squad is a major concern and it is a big disappointment that any signing from now won't have had any pre season with us.
