I think its important to keep the expectations low on Kane. He is talented; we need to make sure pressure is off him to perform. While I want Poch to start him, I do understand Poch view point of protecting him. Way Kane plays, he is effective when he is playing with another striker. But Poch system ideally requires only a single striker. For very first time, we started with 2 strikers in league.

Soldado with Kane would be the best option. I guess, Poch will now start Kane for next 3 PL games before assessing the lineup for Chelsea clash

His free-kick without the deflection would have probably plopped straight into the goalies arms....
However bollocking Lamela for waving an imaginary card shows what a top man he is.

If he starts at the weekend I reckon it will be at the expense of eriksen not ade. Which seems unfair given how shut ade has been, but probably better for Kane as he has scored most of his goals playing off a main striker. Suddenly being the main striker in the first team might be a stretch for him. There's a lot more pressure in the pl than in the cup games.

Exactly this, he has to play in behind Soldado to see the best of him, where he can drop deep and make things happen, play him as a '9' and we wont get the best out of him and before you know it certain "elements" of our crowd would be on his case. He is a number 10, a proper number 10

What is guaranteed is that pretty soon he will start a PL match, not score, and have a fairly shit game, and there will be a backlash here about him. That's what you get with young players though - inconsistency, as they are learning and about themselves and the opponents they face.

Something just 'feels' right about him. His performances when selected are now screaming 'pick me' and this could be a big, big season for him if he can add consistency to his game. That's whats required now.

So this and next season are big seasons for him.

After which Levy will sell him and sign three relative unknowns from Italy, the Phillipines and Tibet.

Changed my opinion on his somewhat, I think he's being helped by the fact Ade and Bobby are playing so badly, but Kane is doing a lot of things I didn't think he was capable of. Not getting carried away but he needs a run of the games as the main man for sure.

He's got so much confidence, partly from his own performances and partly from the fans IMO.

He isn't afraid to go at players, whereas before, he might have been more cautious and played a few more sideways passes. Long may it continue, he has a great touch and is getting stronger.

A star was born yesterday IMO, the way he grabbed that ball, did the Ronaldo stance, and scored! It was funny in a way because obviously he's no Ronaldo but I deffo felt yesterday was the day when Kane was truly accepted as a 'Yid' much like Lloris towards the end of last season (cant remember the opposition). Opposition fans are going to hate him because he could potentially be scoring past them for us for the next 10 years! Kinda like our own version of Alan Shearer, not saying he's going to be quite as good as Shearer, but he's going to annoy opposing fans in the same way.

It just seems to be a natural progression for him, he's taking it all in his stride and seems unfazed by all.

I think is the the crux of it - whereas a lot of our players look scared stiff on the pitch, he has this fearlessness. Same with Mason. Confidence is such a momentum thing, and both of them are really riding the crest of a wave right now.

Must. Start.

And stick Chadli up front as well ffs.

I'd have Bobby in midfield as well tbh, but I'll concede that's more debatable.

I really like him. He's got surprisingly quick feet and can get past a player or two on occasions. He seems good in the air, has clever positional sense, and has a cracking shot in his locker that we haven't really seen. He's also just got that ability to be in the right place at the right time.

I also think he's able to contribute to our overall play pretty well. I don't think he's spectacular at anything in particular, but he's good at a lot of things. The sum total of that means he has the potential to become a very good player indeed.

Tbf Bobby's not playing at all badly, he just can't find the net (admittedly his main job). The rest of his play is sublime for the most part

.

That's the complete answer to those that say he's too slow. Most strikers goals are unspectacular tap ins - and kane will notch up a lot of those goals because he gets himself in the place where he might score. Good examples being his 2nd and 3rd goals against the Greeks - the first was Kane passing top Townsend to take it to the byeline and cross whilst Kane got across to be in front of goal to smash it in when Soldado couldn't force Townsend's cross in. For the second goal when Fazio got the ball on the byline, Kane had taken a couple of steps away from his marker so that he had all the time in the world to head in Fazio's cross. That ability to put himself in a pllace where he thinks the ball will be is so invaluable - and as you say his shot and heading are pretty good, so allowing him to take advantage

Yep, his movement off the ball is very impressive.

It's been a pleasure seeing him break into the first team, and without a doubt one of the best things Sherwood did was give him a few games at the end of last season.

The diversity of his goals makes him such a threat. Whenever he's on the pitch these days I just get the feeling he'll find ways of causing problems for the opposition. Could easily get 20+ goals this season, but even if he doesn't the signs are extremely positive.

He should replace Ade and play him with Soldado, having 1 back as the #10 in the 3 AM's and the other as the striker, swapping positions during the game. I think this will help Kane adapt to the striker role, whilst also giving him game time in the position he has been impressing in. I also think Kane could learn from Soldado's link up play and it would help Soldado out by taking some of the pressure off him, which could lead him to getting that vital goal(s) that gives him his confidence back.

The next question, IMO, is which 2 out of Chadli, Eriksen, Lamela and Townsend start with them.

He just brings a spark to the side. There's that genuine belief that he will somehow make a difference when he gets on.
