From the information i recieved this evening Jasper is spot on. I don't know as much about Joe Lewis' wishes, but reading between the lines in seems to add up with our current financial position.

Rock on.

Simples anzhi want not have to but want to sell and lamela is not for sale however roma have got a figure which is nearer the £35m mark Willian is transferrable for £28-32m

You're just making this up. Anzhi paid £35m for Willian they don't have to make a loss as they don't have to sell.

Be as good as King?

:sneaky:
would he even have got a decent chance in our current environment?

We'd probably have signed people to push him down the pecking order and stunted his development never really allowing cement a place in the team and become the great player he was

I dunno - maybe his class would have shone through, but I am certain it would have at least been harder for him to become the king of the Lane had he beeen an academy player now days

Thanks for the response mate, but could you dumb it down a little for me?! Im tired, my head hurts and i don't quite get your point in the first line. :)

Economics isn't always easy to streamline. And to be fair, I am just postulating a possibility

But what I am saying as that while Arsenal haven't been free-spending since the Emirates, the monetary deals surrounding it are so good that it would be hard for another owner not to notice. And if you thought you get close to the 60m per year they make off just those 3 items (we make 20m at most) then it might be worth investing to give yourself negotiating leverage. Say we come in 2nd and we've made UCL 3 out of the last 5 years. Well we won't need to extend an existing contract for one more year....that's for certain. So spend now, before FFP hits hard to help get a deal for the stadium and pull back after.

This could totally be a crap opinion. But it's something to consider.

The only possible bad thing about it being under armour is that I could see them naming it something cheesy like the Under Armoury.

Rock on.

So apparently we have a interest free loan of £50m.
Player sales could equate to £30m
TV deal £60m
We have roughly £140m to play around with....without putting the club's budget at risk.

I think he's referring to a company investing in us that is American based.

Who was that player we have on our books but LLM said he just refuses every offer that comes his way? I'm sure he has a link or a fondness to a rather large & successful American firm? So this may explain his deep reluctance to move on?

Swiss ramble just did a piece on arsenal. They have more cash than the rest of the league combined. They choose not to spend it.

Plus the fact that the REALLY like to push the envelope with their jerseys/uniforms/kits on their flagship teams (see: University of Maryland).

Am not telling you they have to make a loss am giving you my opinion on what price we will get if a club knows someone would rather sell then keep a player do you really think they will pay more than they need to?

Daws? About the only one who I can think of who has personal deals with UA. Wears their boots I think? Or "cleats" I guess I should start calling them in honour of our new Merikun overlords.
