So does this sponsorship deal mean we won't have to do the normal thing of being frugal in the years preceding/succeeding building a new stadium, like Arsenal did?

If so Im guessing this potential American sponsorship will have to be a huge increase on what them lot down the road got from the Emirates sponsorship deal

This gave me goosebumps and I'm fairly new to the scene..I can't imagine what the long-time fans would feel if this went down.

I guess I'd liken it to the Cubs finally winning a WS? A new fan would be elated, but I don't even know what I'd do were it to happen. Some sort of laugh/cry/vomit/splooge combo. It'd be glorious.

I'll make sure to stay away from WHL. I was at the Bartman game in '03 and it still hurts to think about it.

That lot get 60 million a year between kit, shirt sponsor and stadium. We've spent 58 gross this summer to put that in perspective.

So if we just get near them, plus the increased revenue per matchday, this is a good investment. Especially because these are commodities and can be sold on for profit or to minimize investment.

I just called players commodities......what an asshole move (n)

A little tempering of enthusiasm for the mega ITK wouldn't go amiss here.

If all this money is available and these big signings are a-coming, then why are we still enduring a Bale saga? Why have we waited until the end of the window to weigh in with some big moves?

The window is not dissimilar to many other windows where Levy has backed a manager thus far, there are players moving out to reclaim funds, as I said earlier Soldado is the only 'in' that sits outside the norm.

So what? Why be negative?

Au contraire. We finished last season with a first team that needed little upgrading. A dominant midfielder, a top striker and some wing cover were all mooted. Paulinho, Soldado and Chadli have ticked those boxes.
A new left back and centre back cover could still arrive and Capoue takes care of worrying about the journeymen in our reserve central midfield ranks.
Plenty of outs to contrast the ins, better players arriving, Andre's players? They'll know no other Tottenham than the club with the suave manager and the amazing training facilities.

All is looking rosy and the window could shut today and that wouldn't change. Feel free to dream of a transfer bonanza but in truth we don't need it, we are very close as it is. Forza Tottenham! :)

Well difference with arsenal is that the board when they bought the stadium werent as rich as what the board is now and wenger has chosen not to spend. Whereas we have always been rich but we run as a business and they run it bloody well if am honest. We will get some money from under armour yes but I dont know about the naming rights though it may be named as something else but I believe it will be a USA based company however it woild make sense for it to be under armour if thats what your insinuating.

How many of the Bale replicas have we now sold in the last month? We must have enough for a new stadium and half a dozen world class players by now.

What sane fan would spend cash on a Bale shirt with the rumours as they are?

That latest ITK is a sight for sore eyes! A very interesting read.

However, I don't want to spoil the party or seem like I'm ITK bashing but Jasper's post seems to contradict itself re Bale. In the same sentence he says we've set a realistic price but we also say he won't be sold. Surely those scenarios are mutually exclusive?

Lets not get carried away here. We're not going to win the league this season. We should focus on getting back into the Champions League. I fancy us to push for 3rd place at best. I don't think the change of managers will be a huge factor for the top 3 clubs, they still have largely the same squad of players together. It will be just as unsettling for us having numourous new signings as it is for clubs with new managers.

I do however think we're building towards some highly successful years ahead. Most of our signings and targets are at the age where they are good enough now but will hit their prime around the same time. We could potentially have half a dozen world class players in a few years. If we time it right we could mount a serious title challenge when we move into our new stadium. In the meantime I expect us to play some wonderful football, get back into the Champions League and look good when we're there, and hopefully win some silverware.

Think he meant realistic as in it would make economic sense for us to let him go - not the same as realistic as in RM will be able to or willing to pay it. That's the way I read it anyway, but then I'm all about sunshine and unicorns and shit so...

Everyone wants clarity with the Bale situation but even Levy can't guarantee you 100% he will be there as if a big offer comes in he will go. What I am certain of is REGARDLESS of Bale STAYING or going we WILL still make huge signings and quite possibly make you all be stood in the freezer with your todgers if thats your thing up until 3rd sep so fasten your seatbelts amd and keep pressing that refresh button as your gonna be in for a big but exciting ride x

Who's been dishing out the happy pills in here this evening? All sounds too good to be true, don't do it to yourselves.

Even as i'm writing this a little bit of me is still saying "well it could be true" It's the hope that kills you.

Perhaps the powers to be are trying to turn Gareths head!!! They are probably trying to impress upon him that his place is here with the SPURS.
